Derrick White did not become the player he is today without modeling some of his game on great players he has suited up with, or admired from afar. The Boston Celtics floor general recently took some time on an episode of the "Run it Back" podcast to share a handful of examples of the players who helped him become an elite two way guard for the Celtics.

"I think like a lot of the stars, they don't get enough credit for some of their defense, because they've got so much pressure offensively that they're not on the (other team's) star players, so they don't get as much credit," he explained.

"I think (Jaylen Brown) does a really good job taking that challenge and it's fun to see him pick up full when we need him to get thirty," said White.

"I think (Jayson Tatum) also doesn't get enough credit (...), So I'm going to pick the guys on my team first," said the Colroad native. "Jrue (Holiday), playing with Jrue, seeing how he could do a bit of everything on both sides of the ball was a lot of fun to see, and something that I learned a lot from."

"And then when I was a rookie(with the San Antonio Spurs), I learned a lot from Danny Green. Those are the type of people that I learned little things from them, take some things that I can put into my game."
