We’re 2-5, we’re not trading for a rental RB. Save your ponies for the draft, this season is over.
If you only have to give up a 3rd or later for him, you will easily recoup that with comp picks if he's not re-signed. Why not try to see if you can catch lightning in a bottle for the 2nd time in the last few years (Drake)?

“Easily”? Why wouldn’t the Jets just keep him then?

Maybe they are candidates to BE traded, but why in the world would we be the team to do so?
You don't see a reason that a team that has not met their own internal expectations would make trade deadline moves to try to get better?

Going 6-11 instead of 5-12 doesn't move the needle much. Again, he's a rental. We need to be building long term.

It's got to mean that Benson and Williams or Nolen are trending towards returning.
Benson has to sit one more week and Williams has not be designated for return yet, so I would assume he would need a week of practice first. Nolen is a given IMHO and the other is a who knows.

Guys, this is just moving Hall and Carter back to the PS so Benson and Williams can come off IR this week.

Brother...Monti and Gannon aren't going to think long term when people are calling for them to be fired. They don't give a crap about 2026 other than winning as many games as possible so they are around for 2026. You are looking at this from a fan perspective and not an employee perspective.

A fan wants to watch Breece Hall score TDs for the Cardinals. A level head sees it's an exercise in futility, and poor resource management on a 2-5 team. Breece Hall isn't taking us to the playoffs. You're the one advocating for it. If we were 4-3 I would be too.

You aren't being realistic. If your job was on the line and someone at your work told you to not perform as well as you could because of some other reason, would you risk getting fired and losing your job?

Of course not. You would do everything you possibly could so you kept your job no matter how futile it turned out to be.

Meaningless wins. This is how teams wind up in 8-8 purgatory.

Comparing this to a corporate job is dumb.

What is dumb is not understanding that this is a corporate job for GMs and HCs. They aren't fans of the team. They don't just tune in next year. They aren't thinking 3 or 4 years ahead. Their performance is being evaluated on an annual basis, they can be fired at the drop of a hat, and they potentially will never get the opportunity to be in this role again. For Monti and Gannon, no win is meaningless. For Monti and Gannon, 8-8 is a win if it keeps them their jobs for 2026.

If he signed an extension, I'd be all about Hall. I might trade a 3rd for him even without an extension. It's a no-lose proposition, bringing us back a comp 3rd if he doesn't work out or sign an extension after the season.
It makes a lot of sense if you believe Conner is essentially done, Benson hasn't proven anything, and upgrading at RB is the only real option to improve the run game outside of upgrading the line (which is much harder to do). The extension is a cherry on top.

If you like him just sign him in the offseason.

I feel like it has already been established that Benson has to miss one more week. Are you saying that is incorrect?

Ok, well Nolen then. It's just moving guys that came from the PS back to the PS. Ain't no trade happening.

Carter is the odd man out (as always) because he's a poor 3rd down back and doesn't play teams. Which is really not good considering how long he's been in the league.

Oh so this is just content farming
I dont even think its that. Albright said a RB was incoming, but didn't say signing or trade, so speculation is now running wild.
