Interesting anecdote - They had Q on (I think it was FoxSports). He said that during the offseason, Edgerrin, Boldin and few other dudes were playing pickup basketball in Florida when Q asked Edge "how things were going and have you considered the Cardinals?" One thing obviously led to another.

The combination of Edgerrin, Q, Fitz, BJ and Kurt has to strike terror in the hearts of opposing DC's.

But only if we protect and leverage our investment with a kickass offensive line. Job's not finished, Michael, Rod and Dennis.

Nice signing.. your guys' offense is shaping up but unfortunately I'm not a big Kurt Warner fan. Hopefully Edge can cause enough concern on the opposing defense to help out Warner.

In keeping with franchise policy, the Cardinals did not release contract figures and none were immediately available. However, sources told ESPN.com that James receives an immediate signing bonus of $7 million and an additional roster bonus of $4.5 million later this week.

The two-time NFL rushing champion's base salaries are $3.25 million for 2006, $5.25 million ('07), $5 million ('0 8 and $5 million ('09).

The deal will pay James $20 million over the first two years. By comparison, the $62 million contract signed last week by Shaun Alexander pays $18.5 million in the first two years.

FOXSports.com has learned that the Cardinals have agreed to terms with Pro Bowl running back Edgerrin James on a four-year deal worth $30 million. The deal will pay James $14.5 million in the first year through salary, signing bonus and roster bonus.
James, who visited the Phoenix area with agent Drew Rosenhaus on Saturday, is the latest big-name running back over the last couple of days to bang out a lucrative deal. Earlier this off-season, Shaun Alexander (Seattle), Ahman Green (Green Bay) and DeShaun Foster (Carolina) all re-signed with their respective teams. Ravens RB Jamal Lewis remains the last big-name free agent running back on the open market.

Arizona was the first and only place he visited on a short-lived free agent tour as James probably knew that the market for running backs was soon to dry up.

James has five seasons in which he rushed for more than 1,200 yards and four seasons with more than 1,500 yards on the ground, including a career-high 1,709 in his second pro season. He's also usually good for 50 to 60 catches out of the backfield during a season. James joins DT Kendrick Clancy and lineman Milford Brown as free-agent acquisitions for Denny Green.

If thats the case we are pretty much done in FA then. Thats almost 14 mill between him and Clancy also add in Brown. Considering we only had about 18 mill to spend according to Joe. Dissapointing and exciting.

If that cap hit of 9.5 is true we arent going to have teh money to sign anyone unless we start cutting or restructuring people.
