That's absolutely what it's about. Which would be fine, if we had done work in last year's FA class. Since we didn't, raising the floor isn't good enough.

Low key, there are a lot of DL around that area of the draft that I like.
DeWayne Carter for one. I could also see Sweat falling to that area because fans always value jumbo run stuffers more than NFL teams.

At least we're only on the hook for 2 years. That's what I like about these signings.

As K9 said, I think the least likely to outperform his contract.
But I looked at the number compared to Zach Allen who got $15.25m last year.
Jones is the first number, Allen the second.

Jones is almost exactly 1 year older than Allen and did it a season later. But going off their last season paying $11m per in a higher market vs $15.25m last year isn't as bad as I thought.
Jones is a solid vet 3T coming off his best year that hasn't missed a game for 2 years. I'd be happier if it was $8m per year but it's nit picking.
