Actually being able to play is probably the first gate to being good. If you get injured every 50 touches, you better score a touchdown on 20% of them to be good
4.6 ypc is promising.
Only 1 TD but that was Connor's job.

He might be nothing but you can't tell for sure yet. JK Dobbins has been hurt his entire career but has been pretty effective in between injuries.

Wasn’t top 20 in yards per attempt. How many FBS programs are there? If you’re not in the top 15% of producers how can you be really good?

This is the top 20 for 2022, it's I believe all RB's so I'm citing it. For 2023 a bunch of them are QB's and a couple are WR'sso I'm citing the list with RB's
A quick look says what 3 guys in that 20 are in the NFL as regular guys. I think 4 total are playing in the NFL. Would seem pretty obvious being in the top 20 in YPC in college doesn't mean you're going to make it in the NFL.

4.9 over 2 years 5.5 this year but the issue is injuries, period.

If he can't stay healthy next year he'll wash out.

It remains to be seen what the actual injury is this year the fact that he still can't play now tells me it's probably not just a meniscus.

Achane wasn't in the top 20 either was he not really good? He was 65th on the list in 2022, Benson was 21 so clearly Achane wasn't very good either.

Guys who actually get paid to evaluate people, like Drew who did that for NFL.com, had Benson rated the best RB in the draft.

His issue is injuries not talent.
LOL MJD gets paid to produce #content, not evaluate people.

Congrats on being rated the best RB in the draft by content creators.

I’m not saying anything about projecting him as a NFL prospect. I’m saying by the standard of a college RB he was not “very good.” He was just okay.

the fact that he was only drafted in the third round says he wasn't all that great in college and that the entire draft RB class was weak.

Which is pointless in a discussion about a guy in the NFL.

But keep shifting the goalposts.

Not sure if I believe it but AI says 5 RB's were drafted before the 3rd round in the last 2 drafts. The only one in Benson's draft was Jonathon Brooks of Texas who has 22 yards in his NFL career so I would agree it was a weak draft for RB's. AI keeps giving me weird answers like it says Benson was taken in the 2nd round and there was nobody in the first round this year when I know Jeanty was but near as I can tell, 5 in the last 2 years in the first 2 rounds.

Better keep citing this unreliable source and not do your own research

Who? He’s not even listed in college football reference so I’ll say probably not.
I thought the sarcasm was obivous I guess not. I took the names of the first 2 guys on the list for YPC and combined them.

John Lee Eldridge was first and Tylan Hines was 2nd. On the list that was the standard.

Hilarious.

Eldridge only had less than 800 yards, so I wouldn’t say he had a very good year. Maybe you would since Benson had 900 in his very good years.

Crazy you posted a ranking without showing what the metric was. Good work well played. Maybe ask AI who the best college RB in 2022 was. Then you can post how you don’t believe the results but also posting them.

What's crazy is you said wasn't top 20 in YPC in 2022, so I posted the list of the top 20, Benson was 21st btw, and somehow you don't know what the metric was.

FYi AI was wrong, there's 6 not 5. as I said they didn't list Jeanty.
