As the Indiana Fever held their second of four practice days on Wednesday morning during their Commissioner's Cup break, Fever head coach Stephanie White provided another injury update on star Caitlin Clark.

Clark, who is recovering from a back injury sustained on June 24, did not practice with the team for a second straight day. Coach White revealed that Clark did take part in an individual workout with the Fever's player development coaches, medical staff and its sports performance staff on Wednesday.

"Working on some basketball skills stuff, movement patterns stuff as she continues to work her way back to full team activities," White said.

White said it's "still too early" to know about Clark's status for the Fever's upcoming game on Sunday, July 5 at the Las Vegas Aces. Clark missed her second game of the 2026 season due to injury last Saturday as the Fever topped the Los Angeles Sparks, 111-87.

"I think every day is a little bit better. Again, I reiterate for those who haven't had back issues, every day it can be something different. You can feel really good in practices or workouts or warmups or whatever, and then you go to bed at night and you wake up and it's different. Or if you're sitting home and you're watching something on television, if you're watching the game or whatever else, you can wake up and it's different. The back is a nagging thing that manifests itself in different ways," White said.

Clark has been battling a back injury throughout this season. The 6-foot guard missed the Fever's May 20 date against the Portland Fire when she was a late scratch. Since then, Clark has been listed on each of the Fever's injury reports with her back injury.

"I don't think it's a new thing. I think it's a re-aggravation. Again, when you have a back (injury), it's like every day is different," White said.

Clark is currently averaging 21.2 points, 8.2 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game on 43% field goal shooting, 34.4% 3-point shooting and 85.4% free-throw accuracy.
