The Indiana Fever were without superstar guard Caitlin Clark for their latest game, a road win over the Los Angeles Sparks. With over a week between games, the hope was that Clark's back injury would heal enough for her to get back on the court in Las Vegas on Sunday.
Unfortunately for the Fever, that won't be the case.
Speaking with reporters on Friday morning, Clark gave an update on her status for Sunday's huge game against the Aces. The star guard is set to miss another game. Here's what Clark had to say about her progress and when she hopes to return to the court.
Following Sunday's game in Vegas, the Fever will play that back-to-back on Wednesday and Thursday in Los Angeles and Phoenix, respectively. If Clark were to return for one of those games, the odds would lean toward Wednesday's game against the Sparks. Given what happened last time they played the Mercury, the coaching staff may lean toward resting Clark for that game.
If she's unable to return during that back-to-back, her next chance to suit up would be next Sunday against the Aces. Fever fans will eagerly anticipate the return of Clark, who was recently named the WNBA's Eastern Conference Player of the Month.

"I will be out Sunday, but I'm feeling a lot better and excited to get back into practice today," Clark said. "I'm feeling really positive about getting back into one of the games in the back-to-back... I'm feeling a lot better and excited to get back into practice."
