Perhaps Bruce rewatched the tape of Deone's play last time he traveled to London.....

If that was the case, all BA needed to do was hide his passport, not cut him...hahaha

By releasing Deone Bucannon this morning, the Buccaneers now are in line to get a 3rd-round compensatory pick in the 2020 draft for losing Kwon Alexander to 49ers. It’s complex why, but basically the Bucs now have lost more free agents than they signed (lost 5, signed 4).

Wild. I want to say I’d take him back with the state of this team’s defense right now, but Bowles always got the most out of him, so that’s a deterrent.

I could be wrong but wasn’t he making a run at playing safety with the Bucs? I would take him as depth at LB. I didn’t forget what Walker and Gardeck looked like when Reddick went down and it’s only a matter of time before Hicks is nicked up and missed a few.

8 defensive snaps for the year says he was only making a run for the street.

God he was such a good SS in school. I was thrilled when we drafted him. Next thing you know DWash got suspended and Los left. Hey Buc think you can gain 20lbs and play linebacker for us? Smh

I blame BA for ruining him

    Can he still play SS?

It's a shame. I wasn't amped on the guy when we drafted him, but I'll appreciate what he did to play for us there. I couldn't blame BA though, only DWashout.

Buc did well initially at LB until teams figured out how to attack him. There is no doubt we ruined him. Could've been a great tone-setting SS for us. Same can be said about Reddick playing ILB after playing DE at Temple, or Nkemdiche in a 3-4 front. Can't force 1st round talent out of position just because they could potentially do it from an athletic standpoint. That's what you look for on day 3 of the draft. Ultimately those decisions have doomed us big-time and Keim should consider himself lucky that Bidwill seems to love him.
