Good formula. Or opposite. Either way, the HC needs to be good at what he does. That's why I kind of like the DC from Tennessee.

Those guys scare me. IMO they have looked smarter than maybe they are because who they coach for. Say what you will about Fassell, he's a decent OC. Parcells knows football, period.

only partly true, the Rams made it to the Super Bowl the next year while leading the NFL in turnovers, that wasn't defense it was their offense outscoring their own mistakes.

The Rams are annually among the NFL leaders in TO's, as their OL fell apart and Warner started getting hit too much, the TO's really increased.

Also don't forget a great offense can protect a defense by keeping it off the field.

Bottom line is balance is best, if for no other reason than the cap makes it hard to build and maintain a great defense(or offense) for very long. If you're balanced losing a key player over money is a bit easier to swallow.

Strange you should mention that. Andre Johnson, the rookie WR from U of Miami, now playing for Houston Texans, went through entire college career, dropping the quick easy looking passes. Had no problem on the long ball. Turns out , pre draft , Houston checked and found out he had major vision problems. Contact lenses did the job. It seems like the possible problem with Bryant is the opposite symptom. I would have a tendency to believe, lack of hands on Bryant.

I believe there is an old adage..... Does the coach make the player or the player makes the coach?

The reason I pose that is because Payton has worked wonders with younger QBs and Carthon has a proven track record with younger WRs, which both would ideally suit the Cardinals needs with them drafting a 1st RD QB and having a young core of WRs.

Someone like Jimmy Johnson or Coughlin had talented players handed to them, whereas Fassell and Parcells make nothing into something.. So with either Carthon or Payton learning from those 2, they work better with younger players than most of the other available coaches have.... Do they need someone to coach with an iron fist? Yes, certainly more than what McGinnis has done here. Do you want a coach who is tedious on every single detail? No, because that would undermine the young nucleus they have....

I don't think we have a sucky OL save really AC. Blake has been sacked 18 times this year I think, not bad in 11 games. I think the problem is he only has confidence in 2 guys, Boldin or Jones, so it's easier to defend him. And there are times when you clearly see he's not on the same page with the others. I think he's simply forcing balls that he should probably be eating, but he has had fumble problems too.

No question it's not always the QB's fault, but forcing balls into coverage rarely works for the offense.
