Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week on Wednesday following his performance against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 14.
Marvelous Marvin Mims had a big day as a return specialist, returning two kickoffs for 39 yards. However, Mims' biggest moment came on a punt return in the second quarter. Mims took a Raider punt 48 yards to the house, the first punt return for a touchdown in his career.
Mims has been a jack-of-all-trades as a wide receiver, and as a return specialist. In his short career thus far, Mims has scored touchdowns in four different ways: punt return (Week 14), rushing (Week 4, 2025), receiving, and kick return (Week 3, 2023 against the Miami Dolphins).
"Mims joined Trindon Holliday, Eddie Royal and Deltha O’Neal as the only players in team history to score off both a kickoff return and punt return within their first three seasons," according to a press release from the Broncos. "Mims’ leads the NFL in punt return yards in 2025, racking up 394 yards on 24 returns (16.4 avg.) in addition to posting 552 yards on 21 kickoff returns (26.3 avg.). He has also returned six punts this season for at least 20 yards, which is the most among all NFL players."
He is the four Denver player to earn AFC Player of the Week honors this season, joining kicker Wil Lutz (Week 11) and pass rushers Nik Bonitto (Week 5) and Jonathon Cooper (Week 6).
Mims is a two-time Pro Bowler as a return man, and he shows off his dangerous speed nearly every week when he touches the ball, whether it be on offense or on special teams.
