The Denver Broncos will not be signing a Sean Payton favorite.
Cameron Jordan agreed to a one-year, incentive-heavy deal with the New Orleans Saints on Tuesday, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport. Jordan's deal means one of the top remaining free agent pass-rushers is now off the market.
Jordan had been linked to the Broncos, not only because he is a favorite player of Denver coach Sean Payton, but it seemed increasingly favorable after Jordan declared he prefered to sign with a contender prior to the 2026 season. In recent days, Jordan's name has been tossed around even more following the serious legal troubles and possible league discipline of pass-rusher Jonathon Cooper.
Cooper did not participate in Wednesday's mandatory minicamp, and is excused from the practices, according to Payton. Although Jordan did not wind up signing with the Broncos, another name that has been mentioned by fans and pundits is former Bronco Von Miller. However, in order to open up a roster spot, Denver would have to release a player to get under the 91-player threshold. For now, they seem to be content at pass rusher.
