Broncos Wire's 90-man offseason roster series continues today with a look at fourth-year cornerback Riley Moss, No. 21.

Before the Broncos: Moss (6-0, 193 pounds) was a five-year player at the University of Iowa, where he played 54 games for the Hawkeyes. Moss intercepted 11 passes, returning three of them for touchdowns, deflecting 26 passes and making 158 total tackles (123 solo, 35 assisted). After college, Moss was selected by the Denver Broncos in the third round (83rd overall) of the 2023 NFL draft.

Broncos tenure: Moss has drawn a tough assignment, playing across from Pat Surtain, the 2024 AP Defensive Player of the Year. Moss gets picked on by opposing quarterbacks a lot because of who is on the other side, but he does OK for himself. Moss allowed only a 57.6 percent completion percentage to opposing receivers in 2025, after allowing a 65 percent completion percentage in 2024. Moss has also had numerous penalties called on him throughout the years, including some calls which were denounced by some of the NFL's best corners.

Chances to make the 53-man roster: Near-lock. Moss has been serviceable across from Surtain, but he does have the tendency to draw quite a few penalties, which have been devastating at various points in games. Moss' performance in 2026 is crucial, and it will also likely determine if the Broncos will extend Moss as he enters the final year of his contract. Barring an unexpected trade, Moss will be a key part of the defense in 2026.
