My favorite Borat from Ali G is when he does the wine tasting. He kisses that old man on the mouth...and I think that's the one where he has the pics of his wife and she's some hot chick, has a pic of her holding a fake penis on his pants...and he laughs and says "see, we make joke she is my wife" then the next pic is her straight banging him porn-shoot style. Hilarious.

Also on that baseball one after he finishes the anthem and is yelling "I love USA" he throws in a "I love sex" too. Thought that was funny.

Nothing beats the Tucson bar and them singing "In my country there is problem" with him. http://onegoodmove.org/1gm/1gmarchive/2004/08/in_my_country_t_1.html

That one is funny too..... I wonder if he got totally wasted, he drank like 10 glasses of wine.

And not only drank them, but slammed them all. And they were full glasses...he had to have been hammered...and stayed in character. Amazing.

it was probably very expensive wine. I also notice that he will protect his mustache in a lot of scenes as for it not to fall off. If it's fake....

that segment is hilarious - but you know what made it even funnier? He didn't say it was his wife... he said it was HIS SISTER.

DAMN! I wish I could grow a fine 'stache like that in 6 weeks. Mine would still be looking like a '70s Burt Reynold's stache at 6 weeks

He does touch his stache a lot, but on the Daily Show last year he claimed (as SBC, not as Borat) that it is real and that it takes him a month and a half to grow it that thick. Maybe he touches it because it bugs him? Or maybe it is fake and he just said it was real.

Have seen a couple of notes on the Web that say that Bruno is working on a movie deal as well and that it's signed.

Bruno is my favorite character on that show...cracks me up. I love the one where Bruno is talking to the nightclub owner about Matt Damon (I think) being there and he keeps asking "and vhat did he say....and vhat did you say...and then vhat did he say....and then vhat did you say?" Then when the guy says that was pretty much all that was said, Bruno asks if he ever likes to tell that story and they guy says he told it earlier that day to a friend...."oh really, and vhat did he say?" Hilarious.

Also catching the fashion guy up in contradiction after contradiction...then asking him "so, do you think that consistency is important?" Guy says...NO.

I love Bruno...hope his movie is as well made as Borat's seems to be.

saw it last night, and it was decent. not deserving of the hype that its getting though

the "stupid foreigner" thing had been played out too much by pretty much every tv station in the world, so the jokes had just been too recycled for my taste.

definately not the best comedy EVER.

:stupid:

I couldnt agree more. I watched it by myself in a theater of about 10 people, including a four-year old girl.

Pretty entertaining, but not deserved of the hype.

the PITCH - not even a script - sold for... 42.5 MILLION DOLLARS. Don't know how much of that is actual salary, but the budget for BORAT was only 17 mill - don't remember who bought the project but the deal sent shock-waves throughout Hollywood. You can find the article in variety.com or hollywoodreporter.com for more details.

huh - i won't say you missed the point of the movie, but besides the obvious "stupid foreigner" thing, the butt of half of the jokes were on the Americans in the movie - revealing how much of his own ridiculousness was mirrored by middle-america. that's what I found hilarious/terrifying.

There was an article in the Republic (today, I think) about the driving instructor in the movie. He had no clue about the whole deal until his son told him about the movie. Kinda funny.

Wikipedia is a nice resource, but keep in mind it is an encyclopedia that is created by people emailing information into it.

And why would Andy Rooney of all people allow an interview with Ali G? He's an old guy, but his job requires him to pay attention to media, of which Ali G is definitely a big part of.

I don't think anybody should take anything Ali G does as serious because his reputation says that nothing he does IS serious. Much like guests on The Daily Show, they know what they are going to get when they come on.

No you are incorrect, they had the guy who plas Borat and Ali G and he explained the legal loophole, in tricking these people and still getting them on, He gets them to sign a release before recording

I love Bruno, those are my too fav, that and him interviewing the Alabama Fpptball player, :asking if IF it is allowed for players too date each other".

Or when he has those Spring breakers show there ass, and then tells them too say, We are watching Austria Gay TV, there reaction is hysterical.

Borat chasing his friend in to the conference room with that fist was great. His church experience was one of the funniest parts of the movie.

Sasha Cohens whole deal is doing characters peopel have little patience or discriminates against for and recording their actions. A white guy who thinks he is black (Ali G), Borat (little english foreigner), and a gay guy.

Exactly..

Watched the movie last night. Apart from being funny as hell, the movie exposes the "double-stand" of America (or the middle-class of any country to some extent).

At the Rodeo, he gets huge cheers for (in very derogatory terms ) talking about how the US is superior to any other country and how the US should bomb Iraq from the face of the Earth. Yet, one minute later, he gets buh'ed, when saying the exact same thing about how Kasakthan is superior to all other nations. (I laughed so hard when the horse fell during the anthem)

Or at the dinner party, when they're talking how deliteful Borat is, and how he should be "americanized". Yet, when he crosses the line, the want nothing to do with him.

That's the scary and genious part of the Sasha Baron Cohen. His characters display great ignorance and/or prejudice, that he gets his "victims" to display the exact same thing. The scariest guy I've seen is the gay converting pastor that Bruno interviews. I don't thing that I've ever seen such display of ignorance (and arrogance for that matter)

BTW... Am I the only one that didn't see the kidnapping at the end coming... :)

Unfortunatley, that's highly illegal.

If it's highly illigal, don't you think Ali G would have been sued years ago?

I believe the loophole is, that they all get paid for an interview and before the interview (in Ali G's case) the producers discreetly apologizes for Ali being an idiot, but it's part of a youth program in Britain and the TV exes got this stupid idea that the interviews should be made by someone with "street credit"

That makes the people sign the release. That coupled with the fact that they got money makes the loophole. (From what I understand)
