Not that it matters now, but at the time in the game it sure did.
WHY....WHY did Green not throw the red flag?
Boldin caught the ball with one hand when his foot was well inbounds and his second foot also was in bounds. Now his third step was clearly out of bounds but that doesn't matter. The first two steps were in bounds. I think the refs didn't give Boldin credit with his first step, and counted his second step as his first causing his third step (which was out of bounds) to be only his second step. Damn zebras...

i thought boldin showed a lot of heart - he tried his best.

even on the very last play, with 5 seconds left, he busted his ass downfield.

sigh...

Anyone who bags on Boldin has no idea of whats wrong with this team. This guy is a winner and he bust his a$$ every day for an otherwise laughingstock of a franchise. That catch in reference was incredible. He looked like a shortstop stopping a ball up the middle. And believe me he is pissed about this.

We have good core guys and maybe we just need to augment them with better support and let them develop into three or four year vets. And maybe we need a new coach. I dunno anymore. I say we fire Graves, give Denny a big say in oersonnel and make him GM, and then hire a guy who wont get his a$$ handed to him every game day....

But if the Cardinals are going to be bad, they better do it all the way. There is a franchise QB and a franchise RB at the top of this draft and #3 (at this point OT Ferguson) is not going to make th esame kind of transcendent impact those other two can....

Cant you see the ad campaign now:

Come to Glendale! Home of the Arizona Cardinals and Two time heisman winner and three time national champion, Matt Lienert!!!!
Oh and come see if coach fassel can turn this thing around.....;)

I'm not quite sure quan is human. Some of those shots he took would have killed a normal man. Quan just got up and started clapping and stuff.

I feel bad for him that he's on such a horrible, horrible team.

He's the 21st century offensive equivalent of Aneas Williams.

At least Boldin showed up at the game. BJ just did his Houdini tricks and disappeared again.

PA CardFan! Are you just trying to start something? Boldin is one of few players that makes this team worth watching. My biggest fear is that Boldin and Fitz want out of this mess so they can go elsewhere and become big stars.

I don't think the call would've been overturned. I've watched it several times too and it's the type of play where you see what you want to see. If you want an incompletion, he lifts his foot before he has the ball tucked. If you want a catch, then he has control just before that foot leaves the ground.

I doubt the ref would've changed it.

They really screwed up signing five and six year deals then.

In typical Cardinals style, our best player blows a sure TD. I think that's why there is a little frustration with Boldin today. That's the point where I knew the game was going to be a loss. What an embarassing moment. Then, two plays later when they should be on the sidelines watching a kickoff with a lead, Warner gets injured. That was adding injury to insult.

I agree. That was one helluva catch though!

Who is the franchise RB, Reggie Bush?

He's a great player but I really wonder where NFL teams have him rated right now, I'm guessing he might be rated behind DeAngelo Williams. Bush carried the ball 20 times saturday which is his career high for carries, I don't know if there's ever been a RB taken that high who carried the ball that infrequently in college?

Really interesting, his talent is undeniable most exciting player in college, one of the fastest, and tougher than his listed 200 pounds would lead you to believe. It's interesting, I know someone who has met Bush several times and he says he's more like 5'10" than 6 foot and he doubts he's 200 pounds but he says Bush in the gym is the most impressive athlete USC has, even better than Darnell Bing who has a cult reputation for his physique. He says Bush just looks so cut you can't believe it.

I'd love to have him but I really wonder if NFL teams see him as a franchise RB at his size?

I don't know they showed the catch on ESPN as a highlight and the guy said believe it or not that was ruled incomplete and the Cardinals didn't challenge it.

I think it was a catch for sure.

Maybe the ref wouldn't have changed it but I think it was foolish to not try and challenge it. I mean, at least it would appear as if Denny's head was in the game if he challenged it...even if he lost. Sometimes it is not a bad thing to challenge something even if you think it is only 50/50 it is overturned IMO. Maybe showing Boldin and the rest of the guys he was fighting for them and had their backs is enough even if that play would have been meaningless to the outcome.

I'm pretty sure that was the reason they called timeout right after that play. In order to figure out whether they should challenge it or not. You could argue that if they were going to call timeout, then they might as well have tossed the flag onto the field. But, either way, I think the result would've been the same. Incompletion and one less timeout.

Uh, yeah. Because now if it's close (and it was), you can't really go for the 50/50 gamble because you'd be down 2 TOs. You throw the flag, you don't call a TO.
