Went to Jilly's last night. Had to go once. Frankly, once is enough for an old goat like me.

Dexter Jackson didn't show - again. But Dave Pasch and John Mistler did a great job covering and handling some calls from Bidwill haters.

Food was good and wine selections by the glass were very good but the draught beer selections were pathetic. Other than Fat Tire, the rest of the choices were made of of "lite" tasteless American piss water.

It was loud. Very loud. Speakers were turned up too loud. Caused me to leave with 20 minutes left. I still can't hear the click of the keys on my keyboard.

Everyone else there was younger and seemed to enjoy the atmosphere, so don't go by what I say.

ALL the tables close to the broadcast pit were reserved for Cardinals employees and the younger ones turned out in force. Met a guy from the ticket sales office in Glendale. Sean Tooey?Nice guy.

But the point is, unless you work for the Cardinals, you are reduced to sitting at the bar, away from the broadcast pit, or in the dining are, on the far side of the room, where the sound level is actually much better.

Jim Omohundro worked his ass off. No time to schmooze. Busy already an hour before show time.

This is really a social gathering for young Cards employees, with drink tabs and food paid by the Cardinals. Those of you under about 35 who like Bud Light, Miller Lite, and augmented boobs on parade - this is for you!

If you're 50 something like me, and value what little hearing Black Sabbath concerts left you, and are following the Atkins diet, walk down the street to Fleming's steakhouse. Order a 3 taste sample of merlot, a filet mignon, no potatoes, and spinach. Then go home and go to bed by 10:30. I did.

Jim O does a great job with the show.

Skkorp- potatoes and bolt on's won't hurt you.

Jilly's in Ahwatukee is hell and gone from my neighborhood, too much road between there and home. If they ever have a show at the Jilly's in the airpark, I'm in.

I listened to the program... the Bidwill haters are idiots.....made no sense and were basically trolls on the radio. They can't see what changes the organization is trying to make with the new contract tactics and signings of free agents. They tried to Get Holliday & Colvin in here.... yet all they want to do is cry about how much under the cap the team is currently....If we sign those 2 or 1 of them, the cap is a non-issue......

It just irks me that these people have a personal problem with the Bidwills and won't acknowledge anything positive the cardinals have done...... If it's positive, it's all ASU's doing and the Cardinals are just greedy negative cheap businessmen....

The Schtick is getting old.... life is too short for so much negative energy.... I pity and friends or family you might have to all the bashers.

You still have hearing after Black Sabbath concerts? I only saw them once back in the day (1980 w/ Dio on vocals) and my ears rang for a week!

Dexter can't make the Thursday shows. He has babysitting duty.

Freddie Jones was going to sit in but he backed out at the last minute. His wife scored some tickets to the Suns game and demanded that he go.

I tried to snag a guest at the last minute but all of the guys were either going to the Suns game or were babysitting.

Adrian wanted to do it, but it was babysitting night for him too.

It was the first time in three years of the show that we did not have a player guest.

It was a freak thing, but the show turned out good anyway.

That amount of Cardinals employees do not show up every week. The reason that they were there last night was that they were celebrating the Super Bowl announcement.

It was the first time that there were tables reserved. All other times, it is first come, first serve.

Jim O: the show is usually on Friday - isn't it? ...I missed why it was moved this week..was it halloween? I forgot to turn it on last night...

On occasion I get suite tickets to the suns game and the suite we use is about 4 suites down from the Cardinals suite... I usually see a bunch of players hanging out in the hallway behind the suite on the cell phones during the breaks... kind of cool..seem to be quite a few players using the suite at the Suns games I have been to in the past 2 - 3 years..especially after football season ends..

Skorp thanks for the report I wish I could have been there.. C'mon guys I've been playing music for almost 20 years & even I use "noise reducers" (NOT Ear plugs!) they are washable reusable & they remove the noise & people only have to talk up to you a little bit. I just wished I had used them more the first ten years.... WHAT? ? ? :band:

We share the same flagship station (KDUS) as the Coyotes. Whenever they have a game on a Friday, we are forced to move the Rage to Thursday.

We are back to Friday next week and Dex will be there.

Skkorp, except for the beer and the noise, sounds like a perfect evening. With age comes wisdom. You finally realize that chasing enhanced wild women and drinking yourself into a stupor means untold hours of hang-over pains. When you weigh the advantages against the dis-advantages and make the decision to have a nice quiet meal and go home early, you have reached maturity. Congratulations:D

40yearfan,

I dont know. I have hit that stage as well but I do not call it maturity. I feel I hit that awhile back. I call it old age and the fact my liver gave up loooong ago lol

If that's your opinion then I guess I am unwise and immature.

I always wanted to go to one of those things but it is in B.F.E. compared to my place. If its ever in the Scottsdale location I'm there.

Was that the Mob Rules concert or Heaven and Hell?

I went to Mob Rules but I can't for the life of me remember the year, I think it was 82 or 81 not 80.

I lobbied for Scottsdale once...I guess only 2 players live anywhere close to Scottsdale (Bush and Emmitt - both in PV)...so it would be a haul for the players... Maybe Steve Bush could host one week if the coyotes move it to Thursday - and they could have it at the Scottsdale location...

1980 was Heaven and Hell. Sabbath opened for Blue Oyster Cult and blew 'em away! I think Mob Rules was 1982? Too long ago to clearly remember for me! LOL!

I know I was at the game and there were tons of Cards players sitting all over the place Emmit was the only one with floor seats.

Anyone else have this scenario play out.

Wife says "I suppose you are enjoying those" this is spoken in reference to said silicon enhanced women...

You say "enjoying what" insert dumb looking expression on your face here.

She says "I bet they're fake"

You say "I wasn't paying attention" In your head you are thinking yeah right like I care if they are fake or not.

Which leads me of course to the fountain of knowledge regaurding this subject or the strip club as it is commonly known.

Now there you can sample various examples of fake ones that most likely aren't silicon they just recently started using that again. Surgeons skill varies wildly and it is amazing how many bad ones there are. Some should be registerd as lethal weapons. Brick walls come to mind.

Here is the tricky part it is just like poker fake ones or wild cards to keep up the analogy are only beaten by natural pairs.... he he..

In that yes wild cards aren't as good however if it's for money or when it counts who really cares if it is fake or not.

Think you're right I believe it was my junior year in HS which would have been '82.

I actually tossed my Mob Rules shirt about 3 years ago during a cleanup of my apartment, can't believe I had it that long. I didn't get into Sabbath until after Ozzy left, I actually prefer them with Dio but I think that puts me in the minority.
