Think you're right I believe it was my junior year in HS which would have been '82.

I actually tossed my Mob Rules shirt about 3 years ago during a cleanup of my apartment, can't believe I had it that long. I didn't get into Sabbath until after Ozzy left, I actually prefer them with Dio but I think that puts me in the minority.

I graduated HS in '82. Couldn't go to the Mob Rules tour show because it was on graduation night (Mom & Dad might've been a little upset), but we skipped the graduation rehearsal the night before to go see the Scorpions open for Rainbow. Great show!

I didnt' really know much Sabbath before Dio, and for the longest time I liked the Dio stuff better. I think Dio is a much better singer than Ozzy, but the Ozzy-era Sabbath stuff is killer.

Looks like my wife will be subjected to a little loud music tonight! Got Sabbath on the brain!

 :band:

The radio station I listen to in San Jose plays Holy Diver at least once a day, usually on my ride home, and they seem to play either Sweet Leaf or lately NIB(the one with Primus not the original) every day at least once.

Agreed about Dio, much better voice than Ozzy but not the showman Ozzy was in his prime.

Love the album "Holy Diver"! One of my favorites from that era.

I heard "Fairies Wear Boots" on the radio about amonth ago and freaked out! Hadn't heard that song in about 20 years and never on the radio! Made me think of my doob-smokin' HS days! LOL!

I was supposed to go the Black and Blue tour and had to work. Drag. Interesting, Cardinal Bob that you at least got to see the band Dio used to be in, Rainbow. I never did see Sabbath but I did see Ozzy when Motley Crue opend up for him--with Tommy Lee doing the upside down drum solo. And I also saw Dio around the same time. Vivian Campbell on guitar for Dio was awesome as was Jake E. Lee for Ozzy. As a side note: a friend of mine has a picture circa 1979 of Carlos Santana wearing a Big Red jersey at a show he did at the Checkerdome in St. Louis. I'm gonna find out which player's jersey he is wearing. Kinda neat that Bill Grammatica was able to sing with Carlos a few weeks back for that Monday Night Football contest thing that they do. It was Kyle Turley vs. the Grammaticas.
