Big Delaware boxing event for America 250 moved indoors

The Rumble in Rodney boxing match initially set for Rodney Square in Wilmington June 26 has since been relocated to a new location.

CityFest Wilmington announced June 24 that the free boxing match is now moving to the Chase Fieldhouse in Wilmington, due to the threat of bad weather.

The city will throw down for America's 250th anniversary in knockout fashion with the Rumble in Rodney boxing event, featuring at least a dozen matches, all on one night.

Rumble in Rodney offers the area's top amateur fighters in a USA Boxing-sanctioned event. General admission is free, while ringside seating (which is sold out) had a fee.

The first fight of the night starts at 6 p.m.

Chase Fieldhouse (401 Garasches Lane, Wilmington) from 5 to 9 p.m. June 26. Free admission. Visit cityfestwilm.com.
