Best Mexican Food in the Valley

Had the Pastor Tacos from Tacos Chiwas not too long ago, and wasn't very impressed. Wife got the carne asada, and she wasn't thrilled with those, either

Chiwas is good, but not one of my favs.

Chiwas was better when it was on McDowell.


Fun Fact - the building that it is in now on Indian School was a long-time gay bar. Used to be one of my softball teams sponsor bars for awhile.

We went to CaliTacos Saturday - really good. Alex had the Carne Asada tacos de Maiz, I had Pollo, Carnitas and Al Pastor tacos de harina

Beans were good as well.

Ajo Al's is opening a Mesa location this afternoon. Family business. Sonoran-style Mexican food. Been in the Valley since 1986.

They are opening a Backyard Tacos in Laveen. My son said they have really good tacos!
