I am just imagining this marketing discussion...

So we are really terrible this year but we have to sell tickets or Mr B will blame us and fire us.

What if we have a big event at the stadium and we can show them around?

Oh like before the game?

No not before the game. No way they buy after that. Let's make it like during the week because the traffic extra sucks and then we will tell them how much better traffic is on a Sunday than a Friday.

Okay isn't that just a normal tour?

No we will name it the Stadium Showcase

Awesome so we are going to showcase everything the stadium has to offer including food and beverage?

No can do. Mr B isn't paying any vendors for this. Instead it's just us. You do have a point on the food and beverage though. *picks up a jar and rattles it* We got like $40 in change in here. Everytime Mr B saves a nickel or dime we store it in here.

What are you going to serve people for $40? Bread and water?

Like prison? I mean it has felt like a prison these last 8 weeks.

No not prison. Something fun instead of bread and water. How about Popcorn, Water....and Soda! Yeah we can probably fit that on this budget.

Okay great let's send out the email to our former season ticket holders and tell them the exciting news.

In the above conversation, I was especially happy with the nickel and dime change jar idea because this "event" is so nickel and dime it's wild.

Even Toyotathon gives you a hot dog
En Fuego tonight

This is the actual email. Yes...and water.

I guess coffee and some crap pastries in the morning.

I literally laughed out loud that they think I want to drive an hour west on a Friday during business hours to have a danish or popcorn.

Yeah, it’s crazy that they are already asking for us to renew for next year. And the prices went up again. Their timing couldn’t be worse considering the product on the field.
Seriously thinking about not renewing for first time in over 20 years.
Mine went up over 30% this last season. If they are actually going up again I might be out as well.

I mean if I’m gonna drive down from Vegas for it you can literally drive across town quit making excuses ;)

You laugh but at least with Birdgang travel, there are experiences beyond the crappy product on the field.

If I thought the product would improve or the owner would show some commitment to winning, then Glendale becomes more attractive. Still tough with a 10 year old though (she loves baseball not football)

We have split season tickets with another couple the last two years. We get the Atlanta and Rams games coming up. we have already talked about not buying them next year, but instead getting single game tickets off of Seat Geek when we want to go. I thought I would have season tickets for life when I started in 1994. I didn't have any in 2023. Then, the last two years went in with our friends who have the tickets in their name.

The Cardinals still routinely contact me. In fact, this girl called me about two weeks ago about the 49ers game and next year. Her job must suck right now. I am nice, but I think a lot of people wouldn't be.

If the game experience was like SDS, or early at State Farm, that would be one thing. But it's gone downhill hard over the last decade. Those stupid casitas show you how corporate and lame it's become. They don't want the hard core blue collar fan anymore. I guess that's not where the money is. I used to really feel appreciated for hanging in through the bad times with this team. But it's long gone. Even the attention from an agent feels like a money grab more than "Thank you".

This is wild. It would be one thing if we were a good team who ya know, actually won home games and hosted playoff games.
Meanwhile, a team like Detroit Lions are holding prices flat for next year even though they have been one of the better teams the last couple years.

Super fan Mr Az has had enough he has season tickets to the Cardinals, Dbacks, Suns and Sun Devils.

He’s dropping the Cardinals and upgrading ASU next season

On the thread he announced it, there were many others. Including long time 30+ year season ticket holders, are doing the same.

Complaints about pricing, product, and lack of perks are driving them away.

Bidwill is cheap.

I remember the old Select A Seat days at SDS...all of the available season ticket seats were marked with balloons. Kinda made the stadium look like the house from Up.

It was fun, though. That's how I got my first season tickets and then I'd go every year to see if there was something else I could afford as an upgraded area.
