Jessica Simpson for Baywatch?

Jessica Simpson looks set to don the red swimsuit made famous by the likes of Pamela Anderson, Carmen Electra and Yasmine Bleeth.
According to reports in the Sun, the blonde singer is seriously being considered to star in a bigscreen remake of 'Baywatch', the California beach drama probably most famous for its female stars running in slow motion along the beach.
It wouldn’t be the first time the 25-year-old appears in a movie version of a TV series, having made her acting debut in last year's 'The Dukes of Hazzard' film.
Apparently it was that outing that drew the attention of the 'Baywatch' movie producers.
"Jessica really caught the eye in 'The Dukes of Hazzard' film last summer," a source told The Sun.
"She was the unanimous choice for the Baywatch role."
The Texan starlet was recently in the news after announcing that she planned to begin an adoptive family, like Angelina Jolie's.
Simpson, who recently divorced from former boyband singer Nick Lachey, will reportedly play a heroic lifeguard on California's Venice Beach, stepping into the shoes — or swimsuit — of Anderson.
"Jessica has all the assets to make Pammi's part her own," the source also told The Sun.
Producers of the planned film also hope that David Hasselhoff, who played the role of Mitch Buchannon in the original series, would join 'Baywatch' the movie if Simpson signed on.
