MUNICH, GERMANY - MARCH 18: Harry Kane of FC Bayern Munich poses for a photo with his Playstation Player of the Match trophy following the UEFA Champions League 2025/26 Round of 16 Second Leg match between FC Bayern München and Atalanta BC at Football Arena Munich on March 18, 2026 in Munich, Germany. Bayern Munich demolished Atalanta 4-1 on the night, securing a 10-2 aggregate victory that sees them progress to the Champions League quarter-finals. Harry Kane missed out on the party in the first leg, but made sure he got on the board in the second.

A two goal brace, one a penalty and the other an incredibly well taken strike that needs to be seen to be believed, sees Kane hit the fifty goal milestone in his UCL career. He did it in 66 games, meaning he was about as fast as Leo Messi.

Fewest games needed to score 50 Champions League goals:

◎ 49 – Erling Haaland
◎ 62 – Ruud van Nistelrooy
◎ 66 – Lionel Messi

This also means he does it faster than Robert Lewandowski or Cristiano Ronaldo. Only Ruud van Nistelrooy (62) and Erling Haaland (49) took fewer games. Honestly, as impressive as Kane’s number is, that Haaland stat is absurd. 50 goals in 49 games? Playing for Borussia Dortmund and RB Salzburg?

Kane himself would probably have better numbers if he wasn’t stuck at Tottenham for most of his career. Compared to Messi, who never left FC Barcelona (until that ill-fated move to PSG) Kane did not play for a superteam until he finally made it to Bayern Munich. So, that makes his milestone all the more impressive.

More records await Harry Kane and this Bayern Munich team under Vincent Kompany. Onward to Madrid!
