Each week we will feature some of the top performances across South Jersey baseball diamonds in our seven-county coverage area.

Who had the best week? Vote in the poll at the end of the story. Voting will close on Friday afternoon.

Delsea's Andrew Weir was the top vote getter last week, garnering 44..4 percent of the 24.9 K votes recorded. Rancocas Valley's Christian Corbezzolo and Woodstown's Thomas Tucci rounded out the top three vote getters.

Stars of the Week

Kevin Clark, Haddon Heights. The senior catcher went 3-for-3 with a pair of RBI doubles and a walk as the Garnets polished off an 8-1 win over defending champion and rival Haddonfield on June 5. Clark is hitting .407 with 31 runs scored and 28 RBIs.

Stone Hassler, Woodstown. The sophomore pitched 4 1/3 innings of shutout relief en route to the victory as the Wolverines polished off a 2-0 win over Maple Shade in the South Jersey Group 1 championship on June 5. Hassler hasn’t allowed a run in his last two appearances (5 2/3 innings total) on the bump. He tied a season-high with six strikeouts against Maple Shade, duplicating the feat from his two-inning stint against Penns Grove on March 30.

Chase Ladik, Gloucester Catholic. The senior had a power surge last week, clubbing home runs in each of the Rams’ postseason games. Ladik homered, drove in two and swiped two bases in a 13-4 win over Ranney on June 2. In the South Jersey Non-Public B final against Bishop Eustace, he slugged a two-run homer as the Rams earned their fourth straight sectional title with an 8-1 win over rival Bishop Eustace. Ladik is hitting .300 on the season.

Cole Marchetti, Northern Burlington. The senior fired five shutout innings with 10 strikeouts during the Greyhounds’ 7-6 win over Lawrence in the Central Jersey Group 3 semifinal game on June 3. Marchetti recorded six double-digit strikeout games this spring en route to 103 strikeouts for the season and 206 Ks for his career.

Dom Montana, Delsea. The junior delivered three RBIs in two playoff games last week, including two in the South Jersey Group 3 championship where the Crusaders secured an 8-4 win over Mainland on June 5. Montana had a knock in each of the two contests, extending his hit streak to five. He’s also had a hit in eight of his last nine games, lifting his average to .296 for the season.

Austin Schmidt, Kingsway. The senior picked up five RBIs over two postseason games as the Dragons locked up their first sectional title in 34 years. Schmidt singled, tripled and drove in four runs during Kingsway’s 12-2 victory over Eastern in the South Jersey Group 4 championship on June 5. He recorded a single and sacrifice fly against Rancocas Valley in the semifinal round on June 3. Schmidt has six RBIs in his last three games.

Alex Weingartner, St. Augustine. It was just another week at the office for this senior. On the same day he was honored at the Gatorade New Jersey Baseball Player of the Year, Weingartner launched a walk-off grand slam in a 7-4 comeback win over Red Bank Catholic on June 2. Two days later, the Penn State commit fired a two-hit shutout with nine strikeouts as the Hermits captured the South Jersey Non-Public A title with a 6-0 win over Christian Brothers Academy. Weingartner is batting .506 with seven homers and 36 RBIs.
