Each week we will feature some of the top performances across South Jersey softball diamonds in our seven-county coverage area.

Who had the best week? Vote in the poll at the end of the story. Voting will close on Friday afternoon.

Bishop Eustace's Isabella Acetti was the top vote getter last week, garnering 42.2 percent of the 39.6 K votes recorded. St. Joseph Academy's Madisyn Powell and Cherokee's Casey McNee rounded out the top three vote getters.

Stars of the Week

Brooke Douglas, Ocean City. Helping power the Red Raiders to their first sectional title in 37 years, Douglas had two hits and two RBIs at the plate while tossing three shutout innings in relief with eight strikeouts for the victory in a 4-2 win over Clearview on June 4. Douglas has at least one hit in 17 of her last 18 games, raising her season batting average to .560 with 12 homers and 42 RBIs.

Kaylin Marshall, St. Joseph Academy. The junior drove in eight runs in two playoff games last week, including six ribbies in the Wildcats’ 18-0 win in the sectional final. It was St. Joseph’s seventh straight South Jersey Non-Public B title. Marshall is 4-for-6 in two June games, raising her season batting average to .376 and boosted her RBI total to a team-best 40.

Braylinn Palmeter, Florence. The sophomore picked up a three-hit game during the Flashes’ 4-3 loss to Bound Brook in 10 innings in the Central Jersey Group 1 championship. She had at least one knock in her final 10 games, including five multi-hit games. Palmeter batted .500 for the season, over .200 points higher than her rookie season in ’25.

Sydney Schiavone, Kingsway. The freshman hit one of the biggest home runs in program history, launching a two-run, walk-off homer in the eighth inning to clinch the Dragons’ third sectional title in four years with a 3-1 win over Cherokee on June 4. She also struck out 12 en route to the pitching win, limiting Cherokee to just five hits.

Cali Taylor, Cherokee. The senior recorded her 500th career strikeout in her final scholastic start against Kingsway on June 4. She picked up nine strikeouts in the game, including her milestone K. Taylor finished her career as one of the most successful pitchers in program history and finished her season at 10-1 in the circle.

Makenzie Widener, Pennsville. The senior went 4-for-6 with a double, homer and three RBIs as the Eagles soared to wins over Audubon and Woodstown to capture the South Jersey Group 1 crown for the first time since 2008. A seven-game hitting streak has lifted Widener’s batting average to .465 with 30 RBIs.

Ellie Wygand, Woodstown. The senior set the single-season hit record for the Wolverines and collected two hits in each of her last two scholastic games. Wygand finished the spring with 46 hits en route to a .489 batting average. For her career, she had 109 hits.
