A busy spring slate produced a mix of close contests, standout performances, and key results across the area as local teams continued league and postseason pushes.

Here was the action on a cold, spring day.

Boys Volleyball​


Chicopee Comp 3, Barnstable 2: The Red Hawks (12-1) lost for the first time this season, 25-17, 18-25, 25-19, 20-25, 9-15. Brady Kundel had 23 kills. Ian Fernandes had 14 kills. Mattheus Alvarenga had 37 assists. Kundel had 16 digs. Fernandes had 15 digs. Enzo Santos had 14 digs. Alvarenga had eight digs. Nick Dasilva had five digs. Joao Pedro Andrade and Alvarenga had three blocks apiece.

Girls Lacrosse​


Milton 19, St. John Paul II 11: The Lions (4-5) lost for their second defeat in the last four games.

Boys Lacrosse​


Rockland 13, St. John Paul II 8: The Lions (8-2) lost to end a three-game win streak.

Nauset 9, Bridgewater-Raynham 7: The Warriors (3-9) won for the second time in the last three games.

Falmouth 12, Silver Lake 5: The Clippers (11-2) won their third straight.

Softball​


Nauset 19, Sturgis 3: The Warriors (9-2) beat the Storm (5-4) to clinch a state tournament berth. Nauset's Brynn Kew struck out 13 batters and reached base five times in six plate appearances. Katy Connolly hit two home runs and drove in five runs. Alex Mince had four hits, scored three runs and had two RBIs. Harper Wade and Ava Lagasse scored two runs each.

Abby McCartin and Alex Weston each had two hits for Sturgis.

Boys Tennis​


Falmouth Academy 4, Nantucket 1: The Mariners (7-1) beat the Whalers (6-4) for their third straight win.
