It was a game to remember for St. John Paul II boys lacrosse player Taylor Richardson.

He scored four goals, and surpassed the career 100-goal total to end with 102, in the Lions' 22-2 win over Sturgis East.

Jake Garguilo (three goals, two assists), Kelin MacAleese (three goals, two assists), Alex Morin (three goals, one assist), Parker Philbrick (three goals), Finn Shortt (two goals), Ollie Affonso (one goal, two assists), Quinn MacAleese (one goal, one assist), Liam Morrissey (one goal), Brayden O’Malley (one goal), Jacob Smith (three assists), Braden Shortt (one assist) and Matt Castano (one assist) led the offensive charge for the Lions.

The Lions' defense was led by Brian Skelly, Finn Shortt, Chris Heywood, Braden Shortt, Ruari Moore, Sebastian Tropeano, Morrissey and Castano.

Boys Lacrosse​


Westport 14, Upper Cape 0: The Rams (2-1) lost for the first time this season.

Martha’s Vineyard 13, Monomoy 1: The Vineyarders (2-1) beat the Sharks (0-4) to bounce back from a loss to Nantucket over the weekend.

For the Sharks, Brodie LaValley had the goal and Emmett Giorgio had the assist. Harry Beaumont made 17 saves.

Nantucket 7, Pembroke 5: The Whalers (4-0) stayed perfect. Marco La Chuisa, Arann Hanlon and Nolen Mosscrop all had two goals each. Andrick Mooney also scored one goal.

Girls Lacrosse​


Upper Cape 11, Bristol Aggie 7: The Rams (1-0) won their first game with a strong performance from Lauren Cox, who scored three goals and controlled 60 percent of the draws. Macee Pina had five goals. Ivy Mesple, Thea Haupt and Skylar Rinta scored one goal each. Allison Webb was versatile, moving between all field positions.

Mashpee 20, East Bridgewater 4: The Falcons (3-2) had a big offensive day in their win. Sophia Morin led the Falcons with seven goals, followed by Ciara Hendricks with six goals. Claire Howard scored three goals. Deliyah Fortes, Arianna Andrade, Kai Christo and Aryana Cuozzo scored one goal each. Riley Thomas made 13 saves in net.

Sturgis West 7, Sturgis East 3: The Navigators (1-1) won their first of the season with a win over the Storm (0-3). Maeve Malloy had two goals and one assist for the Navigators. Olivia Cabral had two goals. Cora McDade had three goals. Ceci O'Connor made 14 saves. Lula Heine controlled 50 percent of the draws.

Girls Golf​


Martha’s Vineyard 3.5, Monomoy 2.5: The Vineyarders (1-0) beat the Sharks in the opener for both teams. For the Vineyarders, Jocie Smith beat Lexi Goode 2-down. The Vineyarders' Allie Bianca beat Gianna LaRocco 3-2. The Vineyarders' Clara Rabeni beat Lizzie Cronin 2-down.

For the Sharks, Ava LaRocco beat Hannah Wansiewicz 4 and 2. The Sharks' Georgia Storey beat Callie Oten 2-up.

The Vineyarders' Laila Branca and Molly Langway halved their match.

Baseball​


St. John Paul II 7, Falmouth 6: The Lions (2-0) edged the Clippers (2-0) in a battle between two of the top teams in the area. Ryan Amerault went three innings, allowed no hits, no runs and struck out three out of the bullpen for the win. Henry Roy went an inning with two walks and two strikeouts for the save. Brandon Gomes went 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs. Brian Mancinelli went 2-for-4 with a triple. Logan Our went 1-for-3 with a home run. Amerault went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

Sandwich 7, Archbishop Williams 3: The Blue Knights (2-2) ended a two-game losing streak. Pitcher Joe Coughlan went seven innings, allowed three hits, two earned runs and struck out 12. James Lehane went 1-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs. James Niemiec went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Braylon Heatley went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Jadyn Driscoll went 1-for-3. Damian King went 1-for-3 with a double.

Softball​


Monomoy 21, Barnstable 0: The Sharks (2-0) stayed perfect with a win over the Red Hawks (0-1). For the Sharks, Lexi Totten went 3-for-3 with four RBIs. Willa Leighton had a hit and five RBIs. Kate Huse scored three runs. Kinsey Lister struck out seven batters in three innings, and combined on a no-hitter with Leighton.

Cape Tech 30, Mashpee 10: The Crusaders (1-0) beat the Falcons (1-1) in a high-scoring battle. Alivia Mitchell went 3-for-6 with four runs scored and six RBIs. Senny Walton went 3-for-6 with four runs and five RBIs.

For the Falcons, Michelle Gonsalves went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs.

Dennis-Yarmouth 9, Carver 2: The Dolphins (2-0) won in their first game since March 30. Lily Leandre went 4-for-4 at the plate, driving in three runs. Alexa Buron, the Dolphins' pitcher, struck out eight, allowed five hits, and walked two.

Sturgis 12, Falmouth 8: The Storm (1-0) won their opener over the Clippers (0-2). For the Storm, Cassidy Conway went 4-for-4 with three runs scored. Ryley Mayo went 2-for-3 with four runs scored. Julianna Grygent went 2-for-3 with a run scored, and earned the win in the circle. Alex Westin went 2-for-4 with a run scored. Bella Enos went 2-for-4.

For the Clippers, Tenley Briggs went 4-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI. Ellie Bennett went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Nina Alther went 2-for-5 with one run and two RBIs. McIntyre Bradley went 2-for-3 with one run and two RBIs. Bennett had nine strikeouts in seven innings pitched.

Upper Cape 10, Nauset 3: The Rams (1-0) won in their opener as they beat the Warriors (1-1). Amya Irving struck out 13 batters for Upper Cape. Brooklyn Kutil and Rosalie Neville were solid in the infield throughout the game, and shortstop Kenley Thomas made an over-the-shoulder catch in short left field. Offensively, the Rams showed good plate discipline, leading to an eight-run first inning. Kenley Thomas knocked the Nauset starter out of the game in the third with a blast that just missed leaving the park.

Boys Volleyball​


Barnstable 3, Dighton-Rehoboth 0: The Red Hawks (5-0) rolled to a 25-10, 25-12, 25-9 victory. Six different Barnstable players had kills. Brady Kundel led the way with 12 kills, while Joao Pedro Andrade had seven kills. Ian Fernandes had five kills and Wesley Sullivan had three kills. Of the 31 team kills, 29 were assisted. Matheus Alvarenga had 17 assists. Nick Dasilva had six assists. Charlie Gibson had four assists.

On defense, Enzo Santos had five digs, a team high for the day, while Kundel, Alvarenga and Dasilva had four digs each. Andrade recorded two blocks and Leayon Brooks had a solo block.

Girls Tennis​


Bourne 5, Mashpee 0: The Canalmen (2-1) topped the Falcons (1-2) in windy conditions. At first singles, Bourne's Lily Russell beat Esme Milde 6-3, 7-5. At second singles, Bourne's Ainsley Hopwood beat Hayden Shvonski 6-1, 6-1. At third singles, Bourne's Zoe Noonan beat Lilly Lewis 6-0, 6-2.

At first doubles, Bourne's Sofia Halunen and Ella Swierkowski beat Chloe Fischer and Hamna Shakeel 6-4, 6-3. At second singles, Bourne's Arianna McCarthy and Sofia O'Neil beat Audrey Ogilvie and Emma Duval 6-4, 6-2.

Monomoy 5, Nantucket 0: The Sharks (2-0) stayed perfect with a win over the Whalers (1-3). At first singles, Monomoy's Hanadi Rezk beat Viki Boshkova 6-1, 6-2. At second singles, Monomoy's Ella Cutter beat Sara Dussault 6-0, 6-0. At third singles, Monomoy's Alexa Spirito beat Gabby Nikolova 6-1, 6-2.

At first doubles, Monomoy's Darcy Addison and Madison Mahfouz beat Sutton Lebrecht and Evie Phelps 6-0, 6-3. At second doubles, Monomoy's Alexa Baches-Deal and Lauren Loselva beat Elissa Holdgate and Ashley DeOliveira 6-1, 6-0.

Boys Tennis​


Falmouth 5, Bridgewater-Raynham 0: The Clippers (2-0) stayed perfect with a sweep. At first singles, Brady Keyser won 6-2, 6-0. At second singles, Jacob Faidell won 6-0, 6-0. At third singles, Quinton Hefferan won 6-0, 6-0.

At first doubles, Fofi Verslycke and Jack Beardsley won 6-2, 6-0. At second doubles, Henry Daigle and Eli Connors won 6-0, 6-0.

Monomoy 3, Nantucket 2: The Sharks (2-0) beat the Whalers (1-2) to remain undefeated. At first singles, Monomoy's Roman Pavluchenko defeated Nik Kraste, 6-4, 6-2. At third singles, Monomoy's Tom Hereford beat Toni Todorov 7-6 (7-1), 5-7, 7-6 (7-2). At first doubles, Monomoy's Patrick McMahon and Khush Patel beat Alec Angelov and Max Iancu 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 (8-6).

At second singles, Nantucket's Knox Keating beat Ethan Seufert 5-7, 7-5, 7-6 (8-6). At second doubles, Nantucket's Rojas Rascivs and Prosha Artemenko beat Jacob Constant and Lucas Bicalho 6-1, 6-1.

Sturgis West 4, Nauset 1: The Navigators (1-0) won their first match of the year over the Warriors (1-1). At first singles, Sturgis West's Ray Zhang beat Dusty O'Campbell 6-0, 6-0. At second singles, Sturgis West's George Foster beat Will Christopher 6-2, 6-4. The Navigators swept the doubles matches.

At third singles, Nauset's Wyatt Carroll beat Kieren Murphy 6-1, 6-1.
