Another key member of Auburn's defense has revealed plans to depart the program and enter the transfer portal.
Malik Blocton, a sophomore defensive lineman for the Auburn Tigers, announced Thursday that he will enter the transfer portal once the window opens on Jan. 2 and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
Blocton was a mainstay on the Auburn defensive line for two seasons, appearing in all 24 games with 10 starts and 718 snaps played. During his time at Auburn, he logged 33 tackles with two sacks. He also created 19 pressures with 14 hurries. Blocton made a career-high three tackles in four games over the last two seasons, including three in 2025.
Blocton adds his name to a lengthy list of departures from the 2025 defense. Earlier this week, cornerback Jay Crawford announced his plans to enter the transfer portal after making 18 starts at cornerback over the last two seasons. Two other key defensive players, Keldric Faulk and Keyron Crawford, will also leave the program after officially declaring for the NFL draft. One key player is set to return, however, as linebacker Xavier Atkins announced his plans to return to the program earlier this week.
A total of 16 players have announced their plans to enter the transfer portal during the next window, which will open from Jan. 2 to Jan. 16. Several notable players who plan to enter include quarterback Jackson Arnold, running back Damari Alston, and wide receiver Malcolm Simmons.
