More Auburn basketball roster moves have been made as another member of its 2026 NIT Championship team has announced plans to enter the transfer portal.
Kaden Magwood, a four-star 2025 signee, becomes the second Auburn player to announce his intent to transfer away from the program, following forward Filip Jovic, who announced his plans to transfer on Tuesday. Nathan King of 247Sports broke the news.
Magwood had high potential as the No. 11 combo guard from the 2025 recruiting class from Charlotte, North Carolina. He appeared in the first 15 games of Auburn's schedule before becoming noticeably absent after Auburn's heartbreaking 90-88 loss to Texas A&M on Jan. 6 until Auburn's NIT first-round game against South Alabama on March 17. Before Auburn's NIT run, Magwood shot 39% and averaged 3.6 points and 1.0 rebounds per game. During Auburn's run, he increased his average points to 4.4 and scored a season-high 14 points in Auburn's 78-67 win over South Alabama.
Auburn is now set to lose four key members of its 2025-26 roster, as Keyshawn Hall and KeShawn Murphy have exhausted their eligibility, with Kaden Magwood and Filip Jovic departing the program via the transfer portal. Guard Kevin Overton has already announced his plans to return, which leaves Auburn fans eagerly awaiting the official decisions of Tahaad Pettiford, Elyjah Freeman, and Sebastian Williams-Adams as the transfer portal process continues through Tuesday, April 21.
