The 2026-27 roster has its first activity, but not on a good way.

Freshman forward Sidi Gueye has entered the NCAA transfer portal, the first departure from Arizona’s Final Four team beyond those players out of eligibility.

The 6-foot-10 Gueye appeared in 26 games for the Wildcats, averaging 1.3 points and 0.8 rebounds in 3.5 minutes per game. He was 13 of 18 from the field and also blocked eight shots, mostly in mop up duty, though during Koa Peat’s absence he saw an uptick in action with 4 points and 4 rebounds in a career-high 10 minutes against BYU

Gueye was expected to play a bigger role as a sophomore, just how big depending on whether center MotiejusKrivas declares for the 2026 NBA Draft or returns for his senior season.

As of now, in addition to Krivas the UA’s frontcourt includes Peat, who is expected to declare for the draft, and Mabil Mawut, a 6-11 center who redshirted in 2025-26.
