The Arizona Cardinals made a pair of roster moves on Saturday, ending the season of safety Joey Blount and tight end Kenny Yeboah, who were placed on injured reserve. With two vacancies on the roster, they will make signings.
Those signings could come from the six players they tried out, per the NFL transaction report.
They had three tight ends and three linebackers in for a workout.
Asante has not played a game in the NFL. He went undrafted in 2025 and signed with the Miami Dolphins. He did not make their roster and spent time on the practice squads of the Cleveland Browns and Atlanta Falcons. He played for the Houston Gamblers in the UFL in the spring. In nine games, he had 34 total tackles, four tackles for loss, two pass breakups and two forced fumbles. He is six feet tall and 218 pounds.
Jacobs went undrafted out of Penn State in 2024 and signed originally with the Kansas City Chiefs. He was cut before the season and claimed by the New England Patriots. He played in nine games and made two starts, logging four tackles. In 2025, he spent time on the practice squads ofd the New York Giants and Tennessee Titans, and played in three games for Tennessee, playing 39 snaps on special teams. He is 6-1 amd 241 pounds.
Newson is a rookie free agent who went undrafted out of Missouri. He received a pair of rookie minicamp tryout invites.
He is 6-4 and 249 pounds. He spent time on the Jacksonville Jaguars' practice squad that year. He did not play in the NFL last year but was in the UFL with the Orlando Storm.
Cupp was a rookie free agent in 2024 and signed with the Kansas City Chiefs and spent time on their practice squad. He also appeared in one game. He played in the UFL for the Arlington Renegades most recently.
He was a rookie free agent last year with the Carolina who spent time on their practice squad. He was placed on injured reserve in May and given an injury settlement in June.
