The Arizona Cardinals report to training camp on July 22 and begin the process of preparing for the regular season, forming the roster and determining starting jobs and roles on the team.

Leading up to the start of camp, we will take a look at every player on the offseason roster, their background, their contract, their play in 2025, questions they face and their roster outlook.

Here is linebacker Austin Keys.

Austin Keys background, 2025 season

Keys enters his second NFL season and second with the Cardinals. He entered the NFL as a rookie free agent last year with the Minnesota Vikings, playing collegiately at Ole Miss and Auburn. He played 11 games for the Vikings, logging eight defensive snaps and 191 on special teams. He had seven total tackles and a sack.

He was released December 31 and the Cardinals claimed him off waivers. He did not play in a game for them.

Austin Keys contract details, salary cap hit

He is signed through 2027. He is due $1.005 million in salary, and that will be his cap hit, too.

Roster outlook, questions he faces

Keys is competing for a roster spot in a room where three spots are locked in with Mack Wilson, Cody Simon and Jack Gibbens. He is on the bubble, competing with Owen Pappoe and rookie Karson Sharar.
