its gonna be a tie.
0-0

I mean, not really...but the scoreboard only has two digits...and the Redbirds are gonna flip the score

So Sweat will rush more? Be in the field less? What’s your idea here? How does he increase his sack total by 50% with less talent around him?
I’m thinking I’d be happy with 10. I expect there will be competition on the rush to get those sacks.

This team needs to have a young guy come through ultimately for this pass rush to be legit. May a guy like Jordan Burch not be a typical preseason apparition and the Cards find they caught lightning in a bottle
If he gets a chance to play, Burch will eventually start on passing downs.

Chase Young just ruled out with a "calf injury"
Seems to be a common theme these days.
Suxx for him. But it's a positive for our offensive line

I bet he won't be playing that much. Unless our depth gets hit with injuries. No one on the Dline will play more than 50-60% IMO

That might be worse. Not sure I want to pay a guy $19m a year to play 60%.

He's not out, he was limited. I'd still expect him to play right now from what I read.

Ugh, depth chart shows Dotch as KR and Weaver as the backup. Why have Bam Knight on the roster as 4th RB if he's not returning?

I don't like Dortch as KR, he's way too small to run at 200lb+ guys full speed and not fast enough to break away. I generally don't like WR's as KRs at all.

Devin Hester says Hi. I wanted Bam on the 53 because of his speed but maybe he isn't quite ready to be PR /KR. Without access to all the practices etc. I will trust Rodgers on this. I do hope Bam can be the starter at KR at least.

I don't like any of our kick returners, but the number one thing a returner needs to do is be able to solidly catch the kick. One turnover negates 100 return yards.

Knight is on the roster because of his abilities as a running back.

Ourlads depth chart shows the saints have four first rounders on their OL and the fifth dude is a second-round pick? Yikes. Not all those dudes are world-beaters; three of them are still on their first contract.

The secondary could be tested early if Rattler can find Chris Olave and Brandin Cooks.

Pressures are going to be so key in this win. If the Cards get to Rattler, I expect him to throw a pick or two. I think the game starts out a little ugly until the 3rd quarter, and then the Cards running game starts wearing down the Saints. It wouldn't surprise me if the Cards have 200 yards rushing in this game. Quite frankly, that's what you should want. Not Kyler Murray trying to play Hero street ball. I'm all for easing into the season with a methodical win. Just stick to the fundamentals and the Saints will beat themselves.

Yeah but there's some bad picks there. Penning sucks, tried it at both tackle spots before burying him at Guard. Banks is a rookie. Fuaga is year 2 after allowing 6 sacks a s a rookie and being mid. Penning might not play too.

Bit of a mirage. I'm not too worried about their OL.

Saints starters aren't too bad, but because of their cap situation their roster drops off a cliff after that 22. If they have injuries they are going to be real bad.

He also returns kicks he shouldn't.

Hester was drafted as a CB/Return Specialist, not WR and was converted to WR.

I think that should happen immediately. He seems to be our 2nd best pass rusher already.

I'm very high on Burch as well and think he has a ton of potential. However he also has 0 Sacks, 0 QB pressures and 0 TFLs so far against starting NFL competition. So he still needs to prove a lot before anyone should call him the 2nd best pass rusher on the team.

Remember that Cam Thomas had a monster pre season last year against a bunch of nobodies. He was traded to the Chiefs for a can of peanuts and has already moved on to another team. IMO Burch is a much better prospect than Thomas but again we still need to see what he can do against starter quality players.

Their line is young but there is a lot of physical talent on it and it run blocks well. Pass blocking is where they can be attacked but that we will see ho they progress.
