There are some gems in this article http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcwest/post/_/id/111452/bruce-arians-changing-culture-in-arizona from ESPN NFC West blogger Josh Wienfuss.

Here are a few:

As Keim put it, Arians inherited a fractured team in January.
Once the players bought in, they began holding each other accountable and the Cardinals were playing as much for each other as they were for their coach -- who, according to Bidwill, (Arians) acts like he's still 35. That's been obvious the past few weeks, when Victory Monday has been anything but a day off. The veterans have called the team in to watch film and start planning for the next game. That hasn't happened in Arizona before, Bidwill noted.
“You don't want to let him down,” Dansby said. “He comes off as a father figure and you don't want to let your father down.

Could be that the Cardinals have got a gem of a coach!

Great article and thanks for the link oxymoron. :)

Actually BASK should be healing all long term fans injuries inflicted by rooting for the Cards. Early on I was worried if BA's bluster was just a rehash of Buddy Ryan. I feel confident that this is not the case and we have a great HC.

Thanks for the link CardLogic. Great read.

I have this thing for people who can admit they're wrong. It takes a very secure person. Especially for men. And it takes an intelligent person. On my personal scale of 1-10, 10 being, "You da man!" Arians is working on a 10.

If we can beat Seattle I'm going to cover my nose in zinc oxide in homage to BA. I SO want to beat Carroll. It's all I want for Christmas.

Well, that and world peace.

I'm with you but be honest what comes first, beating Carroll or world peace?

I'm gonna say beating Carroll in the playoffs trumps world peace but during the regular season I gotta go with world peace.

.

World peace. I have to go with world peace as #1.

But I'm beginning to think beating Carroll is, unlike world peace, achievable. If Seattle has a weak spot that can be used to beat them I think BA and crew are the coaches who can find it.

Plus Michael (finally!) built the indoor practice field. You gotta know BA's had the noise level in there cranked up all week during practice. Things that we didn't/couldn't do a year ago are being done.

(Like taking the paper bag off my Cardinals license plate. :D)

I always knew you were a better person than I (see bolded). :)

It is the only hope I have of beating the Seahawks and that is the BA factor.

I'm pretty good with the above.

it's funny...I hate Harbaugh, but I respect him. I have nothing but contempt for Carrol and the blatantly dirty programs he's run both with USC and with Hawks.

Edam right. Who was the last coach in your life time that seemed to have a handle on coaching this team?

Wiz's first three years were pretty damn good. I had huge faith in him after 8-8, 9-7 Super Bowl and 10-6 follow up.

I'm still pretty shocked at how much the last three years of Wiz's time soured people on him and seemingly blocked much of their memories of absolutely balls to the wall fun football we saw the second half of his first season through his third season. Dude couldn't ID a QB to save his life after Warner, but that Super Bowl run and subsequent 10 win season couple with one of the most insane playoff wins ever against Green Bay still count for something with me.

don't get me wrong. I wanted Wiz gone after last season, but a six year run with any team is pretty good. and a six year run, four of which were .500 or better for the Cardinals is still a pretty good accomplishment.

I wouldn't say it's good with this franchise Ide say it's grand! 4 non losing seasons? Gonna be really hard for BA to duplicate but here to him trying!

Right there with you. Carroll is right up there with Jerry Jones for me on the hate scale. Carroll wins out because JJ is a huge reason why the Cowboys have sucked for over a decade now.

So far BA is walking the walk and talking the talk.

This team seemed to buy into him from the beginning. After learning his system you could see the team growing week by week. They play with enthusiasm and believe in themselves. That is the mark of a good coaching staff.

I know to the rest of the nation -- the narrative of "changing Arizona" fits neatly into their notions of what the Cardinals are about.

To me the "change" has come in steps -- new stadium, Mike taking over from his dad, Keim replacing Graves

at a minimum -- the Cardinals have moved into that middle class realm of "wants to win / has to pick its spots financially / will produce good teams half the time"

-- rather than "terribly managed / pretty much always bad / irrelevant to broader NFL discussions" where they were.

People on this board give me grief for my support of Wiz, but he was far & away the best coach this franchise ever had. Graves had more to do with our inability to sustain the success we had from 2007-2009. I love what BA is doing, but he's too old to ever match what Wiz accomplished here. If BA were even 10 years younger, I would be ecstatic about our future. So far, I like what Keim has done, & he will be the biggest factor as to the success or failure of this franchise moving forward. Cowherd mentioned today that he thought Wiz will be the next HC of the Jets. He also thought Wiz was a very, very good HC.
