The Arizona Cardinals announced the dates of their training camp practices that will be open to fans at State Farm Stadium. As always, entry and parking and free, although, as it has been for about the last five years, fans must reserve a digital ticket, which they can do while supplies last on the team's website for training camp.

However, there are two notable changes this year, one which is a growing trend and one that is new.

Fewer open practices again

The Cardinals will have only seven practices open to the public in training camp this year, which is the fewest since I began covering the team, excluding the pandemic when there were no open practices.

For the third year in a row, the Cardinals will also have a practice open exclusively to season ticket holders.

But the number of practices fans can watch continues to decline. It was nine for the last two years and 11 before that. Back in the Bruce Arians era, some years had as many as 19 open practices.

Later practice schedules

While there are fewer practices fans can see, more fans might be able to see them. Five of the seven open practices do not begin until 4 p.m., which is a big change.

In the Arians days, practices regularly started at 2 p.m. Last year, they all started in the 1 p.m. hour, and in previous years, some were even in the morning.

This schedule mirrors what the LA Rams do under head coach Sean McVay.
