BATON ROUGE, LA — South Carolina women's basketball guard Maddy McDaniel was listed as out and Agot Makeer was not listed on the SEC injury report available on Feb. 13.
Chloe Kitts and Adhel Tac were also listed as out.
The No. 3 Gamecocks (24-2, 10-1 SEC) are playing No. 6 LSU (22-3, 8-3) on Feb. 14 (8:30 p.m. ET, ABC).
For South Carolina coach Dawn Staley, the healthier the better in terms of depth as LSU averages the most bench points in the nation with 40.6.
Makeer hasn't played since the first quarter against Auburn on Jan. 29 for a unspecified lower leg injury. On Feb. 13 she was seen in the same practice gear as everyone else, shooting with Ayla McDowell as Staley addressed media.
McDaniel was healthy until appearing as out on the injury report an hour before tipoff against Tennessee on Feb. 8, then wore a boot on her left ankle. Staley said she's day to day on Feb. 9 but she wasn't seen at the end of practice on Feb. 13 though she could have been in the training room.
In 17 games this season, Staley has started or finished a game down at least one player.
Starting senior guard Ta'Niya Latson also stopped playing in the first half of the Auburn game and missed the next two but returned in the win over Tennessee, playing with a large brace on her left knee. She had a team-high 21 points.
Makeer is a key guard for Staley and her defensive presence was huge in the top-five win over Texas on Jan. 15.
She's long at 6-foot-1 and sees the floor really well, playing more mature than her age. She's averaging 6.2 points, 4.5 rebounds.
From Dec. 6-28, Makeer was in concussion protocol but returned right before SEC play. She started against Vanderbilt so Staley could bring Madina Okot off the bench and did again against Auburn before she left the game early in the first quarter.
The sophomore's minutes have increased as Staley didn't have two of her three starting guards on Feb. 2 against Texas A&M and Feb. 5 against Mississippi State.
McDaniel is averaging 4.5 points and three assists per game and had a combined 17 points and nine assists over the last two before her injury.
McDaniel was part of the starting lineup against Texas A&M but didn't start against Mississippi State. Instead freshman Ayla McDowell did.
McDaniel went down in the season opener with a knee injury then in the middle of recovering, was suspended. She missed four full games total then, with a fifth against Tennessee.
