76ers' Mike Gansey shares Joel Embiid's reaction to Jaylen Brown trade

The Philadelphia 76ers pulled off the stunner of the offseason when they made the move to acquire star forward Jaylen Brown from the Boston Celtics. The Sixers were able to acquire the Second Team All-NBA player in exchange for Paul George, two first-round picks, and two second-round picks as the move is considered a major steal for Philadelphia.

Plenty of Sixers players have shared their thoughts on the deal either through various social media platforms or through the media. However, one player has yet to discuss the deal: Joel Embiid.

The big fella, never one to stay silent on many issues, has yet to give his thoughts on the team adding Brown, but President of Basketball Operations Mike Gansey shared Embiid's thoughts:

He is excited. He is in a really good space right now. First offseason where he is really healthy going into it. He's starting to kinda get into shape right now. He's starting to get in the weight room right now and starting to ramp up a little bit with his offseason workout plan, but he is fired up. I called him right after the trade, and he is excited...It will obviously be a big change, but I think they are welcoming it.

The trio of Embiid, Brown, and Tyrese Maxey, along with the emergence of second-year guard VJ Edgecombe, should make life very easy on the floor for the Sixers. There is no doubt that Philadelphia will certainly be near the top of the Eastern Conference with this current core leading the way.
