Brandon Aiyuk wishes to join the Washington Commanders and play alongside his ex-Arizona State quarterback, Jayden Daniels. The San Francisco 49ers star made his thoughts clear with a social media story earlier this week.
The wide receiver has been at a crossroads with the 49ers, with reporters claiming that he is acting out to be cut by the 49ers, who handed him a four-year, $120 million extension just two years ago.
Though he repeatedly posted "Go Commanders" content, not everyone is buying into the idea.

TJ Ward's blunt reality check for Brandon Aiyuk's Commanders dream
Super Bowl 50 champion TJ Ward discussed Brandon Aiyuk's apparent desire to join the Commanders on SpeakEasy. The former NFL Pro-Bowler used quite a choice of words to reject this idea completely.
"I don't give a damn if he shared a womb with Jayden Daniels," Ward said it bluntly. "You ain't coming over here. If I'm a GM, you could have come out, you know, the same thing, and I'm not bringing you over here. That's just what it is."
Ward is no fan of Aiyuk's antics with the 49ers and added that the Commanders should avoid bringing him in.
Meanwhile, the wide receiver hasn't done himself any favors. Aiyuk didn't respond to the 49ers' rehab activity, missed the 2025 season and lost over $20 million as the franchise voided his 2026 contract guarantee. He might have posted two 1,000+ receiving yard seasons in 2022 and 2023, but his work ethic and off-field behavior are being seriously questioned, rendering his NFL future uncertain for the time being.
