The Boston Celtics get their NBA Summer League campaign underway on Friday night in Las Vegas.

Hugo Gonzalez is going to have the spotlight on him as the first-round pick returning before his second NBA season. He's expected to put on a show, and he should -- as long as he plays full minutes after competing in recent FIBA World Cup qualifiers for Spain.

There's nothing about Gonzalez that should be surprising, though. The only thing that would be odd would be if he doesn't play well.

That means to have some more intrigue when watching the Celtics play in Vegas, it's worth looking at a few other guys who could be meaningful pieces of the action.

3 players to watch for Celtics at NBA Summer League

Amari Williams

Williams has recently been rumored to grow to 7-foot-2, although the Celtics list him at 7-foot even on the Summer League roster.

Regardless, the No. 46 overall pick in 2025 has the length (7-foot-5 wingspan) to be impactful at the NBA level if he puts the pieces together.

To feel good about Williams' NBA future, he should absolutely dominate the paint in Vegas.

Chris Cenac Jr.

The No. 27 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft has the shine of being a first-round pick.

He was a big-time recruit when he went to Houtson, but he didn't get a high-usage role with the veteran-laden Cougars.

Now in the NBA, Cenac's 6-foot-11 frame that also possesses some outside shooting ability should get the chance to shine.

This will be his first chance to start staking a claim to rookie season rotation minutes.

Mohammad Amini

We'll admit to not being sure if Amini will even see much time.

But he's the biggest mystery on the Summer League roster after playing in France prior to his arrival in Vegas.

Amini is a 6-foot-7 point guard-type originally from Iran who has a lanky wingspan. The question mark is his shooting.

How much the Celtics actually play Amini will indicate what they think of his future potential.
