The Oregon Ducks failed to enroll a quarterback as part of the 2026 class, as Bryson Beaver entered the transfer portal shortly after signing and found a home with the Georgia Bulldogs. While the Ducks are fine at the quarterback position as they have talented depth, landing the commitment of a quarterback as part of the 2027 class would be paramount in order to keep developing young players at that position and not have to rely solely on transfers.
Four-star passer Dane Weber is a target for Oregon and the feeling is mutual, as Oregon is included in Weber's list of his final eight schools in consideration. The Ducks are listed alongside Kansas, Cincinnati, UCLA, Kansas State, Michigan, Cal and Stanford.
Weber is the No. 25 quarterback and No. 365 player overall in the 2027 class, per 247 Sports Composite. He hails from Temecula, CA, and competes for Chaparral High School, where he's the 34th-ranked player in the state.
The 6-foot-2, 210-pound passer had over 20 offers, but narrowed it down to eight with visits scheduled to Cincinnati, Kansas, California and UCLA. Expect an Oregon visit to materialize in the near future.
As it stands, the Ducks have five commits and the 13th-ranked recruiting class for 2027, with Weber potentially joining three-star running back Cadarius McMiller and three-star offensive linemen Avery Michael and Drew Fielder if he decides to commit to Oregon.
