Michigan football makes top 8 for 2027 four-star QB Dane Weber

After having had a quarterback committed for some time to the 2027 class, with Peter Bourque backing off his pledge with the new coaching staff, Michigan football is in search of another.

While Illinois commit Kamden Lopati looks like he might be the Wolverines' top option -- especially considering that he's from Salt Lake City -- another recent offer has emerged and quickly put the maize and blue in his top group, despite having just received said offer.

2027 Temecula (Calif.) Chapparal four-star quarterback Dane Weber revealed his top eight schools on Thursday, and Michigan football made the cut, along with Oregon, UCLA, Cal, Stanford, Kansas State, Kansas, and Cincinnati.

According to 247Sports, in 2024:

Completed 67 percent of his pass attempts for 2,660 yards and 27 touchdowns with only three interceptions in 11 games. Also rushed for 834 yards and 11 touchdowns.

What is clear is that Michigan football now has some options at the position. Weber is listed at 6-foot-2, 210 pounds and is rated as the No. 365 player in the country, regardless of position, by the 247Sports Composite.
