But ranked below Brock Bowers....lol

These two should headline the next generation of TE's for the next decade (barring injuries). If I could fantasy draft a (real) franchise from scratch (say a neutral observer and they are 100% healed) I'd probably give the slight edge to Bowers, but all in all I'm glad we got McBride. I don't think there's a wrong answer, ideally it would come down to who works best for the system.

For Madden purposes, it definitely makes sense for McBride to be ahead, especially given the past year each of them had. That puts him in pretty rare and elite company though, (as a 99 AND a TE) so maybe madden generated a bit more buzz putting a TE at 99.

This btw is how you also make fans. Not only winning, but you need players to root for. Players that other people/fans respect. He's on his way to becoming a household name if he isn't already.

9 Day until training camp and two of our QBs for contractual reasons are currently not on track to be there. JB for a raise and Beck because the Raiders are worse than the Cardinals. Only 8 players remained unsigned and 4 of the them are the first 4 QBs selected. Also, zero word on any extensions to young players. Monti needs to stop acting like he is on vacation.

We’re nine days away from TRAINING CAMP OPENING and the prevailing feeling on this board is “can we just get this season over with already?”

Honestly it’s never felt this bleak in all my time here.
yeah... this is easily the darkest timeline, especially considering we're coming off 3 pretty awful years already.

Ehhh recency bias. It’s been so damn bleak around here many times over.

There has been legit more traffic/discussion in another thread that involves another team & an ex-player. I expect that to continue into the regular season as well. Shows us where we’re at as a franchise.

Wrong! Those times were fun! Jerry Sullivan installing a pass-first offense! Larry and Anquan (legendary preseason thread). Warner and then Leinart. Edgerrin James!

That was quite frankly the golden age on this board.

That 2003 - MNF Meltdown stretch was a truly an amazing time on the board when the board was young and so were we… relatively speaking.

Yes. The offseason was the time when we were talking ourselves into the team being good. It was a time of “if these 5-8 things break right we could sneak into the playoffs.

No one can even be bothered to post the “predict the wins” poll or project a series of events that could lead to a competitive season outside Christian McCaffery’s legs fall off?

I mean... I don't know about that. 2003 was pretty much where the Darksiders v. Kool-Aiders monikers were born, in the "building the belly of the beast" off-season. There was a lot more hope in the 2004 off-season when we signed Dennis Green, who had always won throughout his career and even in the 2005 off-season and 2006 off-seasons, where big names like Warner, Edge and Leinart were added to the mix that already had young Larry, Q, Dansby and Dockett.

Eh... I guess we were talking ourselves into the team being good, or at least better during good chunks of Dennis Green's run.

Yeah... it's impossible to see the silver lining on this season's cloudy day. It's just freaking darkness ahead. I'm a little excited to see what Love can do, but that's about it and that's not much.
