I am fine with the strategy of signing mid-priced players who play at a replacement level to fill holes -- and then relying on your draft to supply the impact players

but your replacement level players have to play at a replacement level

some of this was just bad luck -- Nichols and Jones just didnt miss games until they signed with the Cardinals, and then they missed nearly all of them

it would also help to have the draft produce some impact players as well

his metrics last year werent good as a run stuffer.

maybe too many snaps for his age given the injuries on the d line last year

but the Cards arent getting deeper there this year.
He went to an awful defense to clog up blockers and allow LBs to make plays. LBs struggled. Other DL guys struggled. He’s not going to play in nickel but he stayed healthy and did his job. Was still the best DL on the roster when he was cut.

Monti signed Jones and Nichols who got hurt. Then signed Dalvin who didn’t get hurt. Still cut all three. Dude had no clue.

Is. How's he going to stuff the run, by himself? With no one else playing DL with him.

Here's the question: How are you not only replacing him, but getting better on the DL beyond that?

The Arizona Cardinals and RB James Conner have agreed on a restructured contract for the 2026 season.

The 31-year-old Pro Bowler is back in AZ.

It’ll be so funny when Conner goes into the Ring of Honor for headlining one of the most ignominious eras of Cardinals football.

tell The Insiders. He missed 12 games with a back injury last season but is healthy now and Arizona moves to retain him ahead of free agency.

I didn't realise we snatched up Kalen King.

Remember when he was a projected 1st round pick and then had terrible bowl games and testing and went undrafted?

I don't believe Kalen King was ever a projected 1st round pick. After his soph year he was looked at as potentially one of the ascending CBs in college but that got smashed by a terrible JR year after which he made the mistake of declaring for the draft.
