The list only includes the 18 non-playoff teams, and they're almost at the very bottom of it, which tracks.

It's only the non-playoff teams.
But I agree, they should be the least miserable of the bunch. Yeah, next season is sunk because of Mahomes, but how is Detroit less miserable? They have been almost as impotent as us historically, they have a season where they're widely considered a superbowl favorite and they not only miss the playoffs but finish dead last in their division.
That is crushing.
I'd put Detroit far higher.
