I'd have preferred Pregnon in the 3rd and Nussmeier in the 4th. Our other starting guard is just ok and is 32, and maybe you can play Bisontis at RT for a year. Don't love it, but willing to give him a chance.
Enough guards already ,but I like him

Should be tattooed on everyone’s forehead that wanted to jettison K1 without a single plan to replace him.

Personally I’m ok with this pick. Beck has had the most success of any college QB even Mendoza. He’s looked good with multiple teams yet of course has some blemishes.

The Cards have to start somewhere so here we are.

Gonna be fun.

I am unethusiastic about the pick but just as I was with Malik Willis, if he is who MLF wants I am okay with it.

It is a minimal investment who seems to fit what MLF and Hackett wanted.

Bidwill wants our money this year…wants you to buy tickets and a jersey this year….beck and love with marv McBride and Wilson ….with improved o line play and lafleur calling the shots? Don’t you want to reach for your wallett already?
not sure what the point is?

If he prevents us from 'fixing' the QB position in 2027, it means he played in 2026 and won games.

For the record I hope the kid turns into the next Payton manning.

But this seems more likely to be our ham-fisted GM flailing around like a total spaz again.

no he wouldn't, he is already the best QB on the roster, haters gonna hate. I still think AZ is in top 5 and take a QB next year. However this draft is underwhelming and this years 3rd rd seems is like a normal years 5th rd talent wise. I think NIL has caused the talent to stick around a little longer in college and their is a lag in players coming out. 1/2 the QBs that took big NIL payouts would have declared in previous drafts w/o it. A ton of players are taking the sure thing of getting paid in college before committing to the next level
Stating he’s better than BBQ, who looked like a C- NFL starter last year, is going out on a pretty thin limb.

Playing Qb in the NFL is one of the most difficult jobs on the planet. Jacobi has stuck around in the league for a reason, while guys like Rosen are long gone.

Beck supposed underwent a personality transplant when he went to Miami. I’ll believe it when I see it under pressure week after week. Rather than vets correcting, historically they just turn that type off or let the pass rush crush them. I do know he definitely under went UCL surgery. He didn’t do the common Tommy John replacement procedure which would have cost him the 2025 season. Instead he got the internal brace surgery. Most observers feel he’s lost some velocity on his throws. This hampers him on throwing into tight windows and deep throws. It also makes it easier to bat down balls at the line (he’s had a bunch) despite his height.

I got ask how does he compare to Nix? Similarities as both are highly experienced and use progressions decently, though Beck gambles more on his primary. Beck needs a better pocket, as he’s far less mobile, but he’s improved some. He looks like Stafford-mobile at times, so he must avoid pigeons. He puts more passes at risk as he’s not as disciplined. Beck needs more weapons. Both have decent mechanics but Nix resets his feet better. Not sure Beck has that internal clock to avoid strip sacks with the faster NFL pace. He won’t help Love, but Love will help him as like Murray he can panic and dump the ball especially when facing inside pressure. (Note to my English teacher. Diagram that sentence).

On the plus side he can read defenses, is accurate on short and midrange throws and can throw those receivers open. He can make short passes accurately on the run if not harassed.

On the draft thread I wrote I expect him to be great in preseason. He’ll start a QB controversy (like Tune) and he’ll somehow start at some point. When the games count he’ll fail fabulously!

Beware the online scouting reports. Some are terrible garbage. The grid here is reasonably accurate

For all y'all saying to still take a QB next year in the 1st...Who? None of the names thrown around are gonna do crap, especially Arch. He's pure pyrite! Beck has just as much of a chance as any of them to succeed. He's big, has a ton of experience and has won a lot of games. He may have been an cornholio at one point, but things I've heard and read seem to point to a kid who may have started turning a corner at Miami. Even if he is still an cornholio, he's our cornholio now, so I will give him as much support and a chance as we have K1. If he works out, he works out...if he doesn't, he doesn't.

TBH, I'd rather just roll with him and see if you can get a conditional 8th rounder for Brisket.
That would be a great name for a QB. I can hear it now on Sunday afternoon:
Cornholio drops back to pass...
Cornholio let's it fly deep....he's got Harrison in the endzone...Touchdown
Ooh My... Cornholio is really on fire today! lolololol

I don't really understand this pick due to some of the rumors about his character. Hopefully he grows up. I do like this Yahoo draft review on taking Carson, https://www.yahoo.com/sports/nfl/article/nfl-draft-2026-round-2-3-grades-picks-232627960.html

1. (65) Arizona Cardinals: Carson Beck, QB, Miami

Grade: D+

I don't understand the upside here. Beck could be a good backup, but the Cardinals already have Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew. It's a dart throw, but I’m not sure about this one.

Cardinals could draft Jesus Christ and some would hate the pick.

Taking a flier on a QB is a great idea but no sense not pulling the trigger. I like this pick as he's a good kid actually and it's not like we're expecting him to play right away. Better than Slovis

i would have preferred Nussmeier

I would have preferred Beck in the 4th

I do like the size, the experience and that he played for high stakes programs in many high stakes games

im hoping that as he gets further away from the ucl surgery, his arm velo improves.

so now im hoping for the best
