im thinking the chiefs qb we got probably thought he could battle brissett in camp for the #1

brissett obviously thought he was getting the #1 spot after asking for #1 money

now we have a new head coach who likely had a say so in drafting carson beck- i don't think lafleur got mcvay'd

could there be a 3 way qb competition for the starting gig in camp?

Solid backup but would’ve waited until the 4th.
Let's see, solid career backup Brisskitt, backup "The Stasch" and a possible solid back me up Beck...here comes 6000 posts of what the heck's, what if's and then...finally...May 1st..LOL

We are all a bit torn here.

Y’all say we will be lucky to win 5 games. Y’all say we’ll get a qb in 2027.
But deep down inside Y’all are hoping beyond hope we can compete this year. And by taking Beck means it’s one less piece to work with this year.

Did you think anybody we took in the 3rd round was going to be a future cornerstone? Probably not.

So answer me this.
How many of you think Beck will be our starter in game one?
How many of you think , to hell with it,let’s roll with him on opening day.
How many of you think Brissett gives us the best chance to compete in 2026?

So Monti took a big swing. There are some ( including Warner) that think he has what it takes.

But we all know better than Warner.
Booger said tonight before the draft started “ beck has the ability to start for Arizona” ….hell we even got a stud guard to add ….i am much happier tonight than last night lol

That same website had Shaduer Sanders as the 2nd ranked QB last year. Hahaha
Sure. It is all a crapshoot.

But that is the opinion from all draft sites analysts. This year is QB poor, next year is much deeper.

With Beck we drafted our backup QB of the future. Which isn't completely terrible because we have absolutely nothing at QB for the future.

It's picks like this why the team continues to suck. Draft a backup project QB in the 3rd when the roaster is Swiss cheese. Roaster building doesn't seem to be one of Monti's strong points.
I just don’t understand everyone that says we have a ton of holes in the roster, we really don’t.

We don’t need RB, WR, TE, CB, or safety. We could use a RT, dlineman, an mlb, a pass rusher, and a qb.

That’s really the only holes I see. We have a bunch of young guys that need to get experience to see if they sink or swim.

Pass rushers and RT are already gone by this pick.

I don’t really have a problem taking a flyer on this guy, because he does seem to have all the physical skills you are looking for.

For a roster as wretched as this one, burning the 65th pick on a back up QB should result in Monti spending some time in the maricopa county jail.

It’s absolutely criminal.

I don't like the pick. I don't like Beck as a player.

But he's here now, so as a fan, I hope he turns out to be a good backup QB. Or, the miracle finally happens for this franchise.

I tend to agree but we lost a ton of games, most badly the second half of the season, our starters aren't good is the core issue. I like our 53 on balance though.

Every team without a set QB situation feels obligated to take a swing on one in the 3rd. It is what it is. The Seahawks did the same thing burning a 3rd on Jalen Milroe last year when they werent sure on Darnold. Milroe is even worse than Beck.

My issue is QB is such a critical position. Yes teams have won with mediocre QB's but not ones that their teammates don't like. Everywhere Beck has been his teammates have disliked him, . Now imagine asking an NFL team to have him starting for you as a rookie .

We just set up a situation where a QB everyone likes might get pushed aside over money(JB) and a QB that's been hated everywhere he played is going to be pushed in as the replacement.

You can argue we were going to suck anyways but I just think it creates a horrible situation for the team and frankly for Beck.

I dont think Beck starts a single game before we are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. After that he will be a tank commander.
