And we did just that.

Well, he is our potential starting QB now and we need to support him, just like the K1 fans used to tell everyone on the board. (How was Beck in high school, BTW?)

So, Go Carson !! He does have a lot of weapons on offense.

Let's go !!

Between Beck and Simpson... I'd prefer neither, not for another round or so.

But I'd rather have Beck in round 3 than Simpson in round 1.

Beck has some good tools but seems kinda stupid. Simpson has zero tools and is allegedly smart.

Neither are enticing and I doubt either will start more than a season as a pro... probably less for both.

I don't like him, but I don't pay the bills. I can learn to like him if he isn't trash. We have Brisket and Uncle Rico. Let these dudes fight it out in TC for QB1.

He does fit a MLF prototype, skill wise. Is his arm still recovering? They say it can take two years. Dunno. He has tools, size, is accurate. Crumbles under pressure, is a demon off the field. Dunno. I hate the guy but oddly don't hate the pick. Doesn't derail 2027 QB chase. Might be fine. Might bust. Might never see the field after a few starts. It's a dart thrown. We won't see where it hits for a bit.

Ugh. I guess I'm doomed to have QBs I really don't like.

I don't mind taking a flyer on QB at #3, just not Beck. He sucks under pressure. His arm is crap since he did his UCL and he seems like an cornholio.

Nussmeier will be better.

Because the QB position is so important, teams have to take that chance should they elect to fill the position via the draft. Some lament the spending of draft capital on anything but the second coming of (name your favorite HOF QB).

It would be great if selecting a QB was 'one-and-done' but it's not. Got to bring 'em in and let the rest of the league Defenses sort them out as we progress through camp, pre-season, and their first auditions as a starter.

Do any of our current QBs fit within the playbook of our new HC? If we are going 'West Coast,' CB may indeed be a good fit??? We have plenty of talent at our skilled positions and some decent players on our OL as all return to health. I give our 3-14 OL some leeway considering the destruction of the roster by injuries last year. RB Love is going to ease the pressure on any QB---not just CB.

Our OL will love a tall QB who plays from the pocket. They will have an area to defend and a QB who can scan the whole field and make the short-to-intermediate West Coast type throws.

I'm for giving JB his opportunity with a healthy OL and RB Love. Ditto CB and even Minshew, If none of them work, churn the roster and bring in other possibilities. Give Slovis some reps as well, TRV. In the meantime, got to pay the draft price to audition QBs---and not get upset that we spent 'X' to do it.

why blow a 3rd rounder on a quarterback when we're looking at next year to draft a QB? ugh.
Says who? Manning wouldn’t come here for Donald trump money …and Dante Moore sucks… we are taking our right tackle now….

The Athletic Football show did 5 minutes discussing him on their day 2 wrap-up.

They liked him for what he was and evaluated him to having a good chance to develop into a good back-up, which could justify a mid to late 3rd rounder alone.

Would they have taken him at #65? Probably not, but they understood why. Hopkng that the right system and coach could elevate him to a good starter.

I admit that I couldn’t stand Carson Beck when he was at Georgia. He just came across as a real jerk. However, the elbow injury seemed to humble him. I saw an interview Beck gave on the ACC network back in November and came away just really impressed. He spoke of how thankful he was to be playing again after the injury, praised the Georgia program for helping him grow up, and raved about his teammates at Miami.

We are all a bit torn here.

Y’all say we will be lucky to win 5 games. Y’all say we’ll get a qb in 2027.
But deep down inside Y’all are hoping beyond hope we can compete this year. And by taking Beck means it’s one less piece to work with this year.

Did you think anybody we took in the 3rd round was going to be a future cornerstone? Probably not.

So answer me this.
How many of you think Beck will be our starter in game one?
How many of you think , to hell with it,let’s roll with him on opening day.
How many of you think Brissett gives us the best chance to compete in 2026?

So Monti took a big swing. There are some ( including Warner) that think he has what it takes.

But we all know better than Warner.
Im hoping for a Russell Wilson scenario playing out....

I think he would still have been available in the 4th

Sure would have liked to continue to build the Oline
no he wouldn't, he is already the best QB on the roster, haters gonna hate. I still think AZ is in top 5 and take a QB next year. However this draft is underwhelming and this years 3rd rd seems is like a normal years 5th rd talent wise. I think NIL has caused the talent to stick around a little longer in college and their is a lag in players coming out. 1/2 the QBs that took big NIL payouts would have declared in previous drafts w/o it. A ton of players are taking the sure thing of getting paid in college before committing to the next level

I think we might have to prepare ourselves that we don't take a QB in 2027. Beck might show enough that we give him a 2nd season to show what he truly is.
It's okay because there will be some QBs that will be available in 2028.

Short of Jacoby lighting it up, beck will be playing by October. If he shines great, if there is still a lot of doubt we go qb in 2027. We have no loyalty to a 3rd round QB.
Jacoby lit it up last year...1-11. No real reason to keep and start him, unless Beck looks completely lost in off-season practice.

Exactly i dont see any reason to play brisset since he has never show he can lead a team to a winming season
U start Beck , if it pans out u have a legit starter and possibly a qb of the future otherwise u get an early pick and in a likely strong class next year

New Cardinals QB Carson Beck's reaction to the thought of linking up with TE Trey McBride, WRs Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson and RB Jeremiyah Love in Arizona:

"Gosh. There's so much talent on that team and that's what you need as a quarterback."

Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur on what stands out about QB Carson Beck:

"He's a big, solid dude. ... He looks the part. Natural thrower, he's tough. ... He's been through those big games, but he's been through some adversity, too."

Yall acting like monti burned the 1st pick of the draft. It’s a 3rd round flyer - everyone chill. It’s a weak qb class and monti already mucked up free agency for QB. We need a flyer. Best case- he lights it up, worst case we are drafting a qb in 2027 and only lost one 3rd round pick.

So many of yall ready to torch the kid - guess what- of our current QBs he is the only one with some potential upside.
This is nothing compared to when Kyler was drafted
