Eugenio Suarez got off the Diamondbacks’ plane and stepped right onto the Mariners’ plane

With the Seattle Mariners’ trade for Eugenio “Geno” Suárez from the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday night, the vibes around the team were certainly good.

Especially with the way the team returned from Sacramento to begin a 10-game homestand on Thursday.

As Mariners insider Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports relayed Thursday morning to Brock and Salk, the Mariners’ team plane didn’t take off from Sacramento for home right away. It turns out it was waiting for some surprise passengers.

“We got on the plane and we were sitting for a little while, and it turns out that they were holding the plane for Geno and his family,” Drayer said. “And they didn’t tell the players that was what they were doing. So after about a half-hour, all of a sudden it got a little bit loud at the front of the plane. Geno got on the plane and you could hear the cheering.”

It must have been quite the whirlwind for Suárez, who started the day playing for Arizona at Detroit. But with the Diamondbacks set to start a series against the Athletics on Friday, he was able to jump from one plane to the next.

Yeah, let's disregard the 4 TJ surgeries and the other pitcher's injuries. We were 4th in MLB in runs produced, and all of our star relievers and our Ace are out for the season. Torey's job is on the line as it should be, but he did not create this mess. But, I don't think he will survive this, and we will see how the next-up guy does.
He did create it, the orgs stance on making their players soft with the little league coddling of players is BS

Dbacks getting three as of yet unnamed prospects back

The Rangers are acquiring right-hander Merrill Kelly from the D-backs, a source told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand on Thursday. The clubs have not confirmed the deal.
Left-hander Kohl Drake (Rangers' No. 5 prospect), lefty Mitch Bratt (No. 9) and right-hander David Hagaman (No. 13) are part of the package headed to the D-backs, according to a report from The Athletic.

So here's the haul after trading Naylor, Grichuk, Suarez and Kelly and their age and the highest level they've played at so far -

LHP Mitch Bratt [TEX], 22 - AA
RHP Juan Burgos [SEA], 25 - MLB
RHP Hunter Cranton [SEA], 24 - A+
LHP Kohl Drake [TEX], 25 - AAA
LHP Brandyn Garcia [SEA], 25 - MLB
RHP David Hagaman [TEX], 22 - A
RHP Andrew Hoffman [KCR], 25 - MLB
RHP Ashton Izzi [SEA], 21 - A+
1B Tyler Locklear [SEA], 24 - MLB

Obviously they felt they needed to load up on pitching prospects.
