Arizona Cardinals

Don't be surprised if ... tight end Trey McBride is the Cardinals' leading receiver again.

What I'm hearing:
Sure, the Cards drafted wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. with the fourth pick in 2024. And yes, everything we've heard out of Arizona this offseason has indicated Harrison is improving on his connection with quarterback Kyler Murray and should be a bigger part of the offense than he was as a rookie. But that still doesn't mean he'll be the biggest part of it.

Offensive coordinator Drew Petzing's system is built to feature McBride as its top target, and all indications are that the Cardinals see no reason for that to change. McBride is an exceptional player who has been a reliable performer for Murray every time they've been on the field together. And yes, fantasy football managers, I think you can expect his touchdown numbers to climb. McBride had 111 catches for 1,146 yards last season, but he scored just two TDs.

Because the conventional wisdom here right now is like five players earned roster spots during the Raiders game
Maybe JG was playing the NFL preseason matters spiel when he stated that they matter. Or maybe he meant it when he stated those games are part of the evaluation process. To your point I don't think Bam made the 53 based solely on the Raiders game.

nice to see ourr boy Dante making the good lists.
Not sure why that author didnt have him as a jump player though. he has developed well,...and adding guys like DT and CC to absorb offensive attention should only make his job easier.

Because Brooks posted that number is 822 defensive snaps and Ojomo in 456(!!!!).

Stills has had 1067 defensive snaps.

Yes. But it was a thousand snaps when Dante was the only one.
We cycled through our starters, our backups, and our insurance salesmen and we're playing door to door vacuum cleaner salesmen next to Stills. He drew all the attention.
I hazard a guess both those other guys were in better situations.
Adding legit talent around him should pull nearly all the focus off of Stills.
May not show up much as stats but I'm expecting a huge leap in effectiveness from Dante this season.

Honest will be the first guy that comes out in an interview and states we are in trouble. This time of year:

I like the chemistry we’re building
The guys are a really tight knit group
There no telling how good we can be
Player A has made huge strides.
And so on and so on and so on.

We better come out on fire. We CANNOT lose to the Saints or all that
“chemistry” will go down the toilet.
They are starting basically a rookie qb with an o-line reportedly putrid.

It's game 1.
But it's a "Must Win" game for us.

You look at the sheets and by all rights we should totally dominate the Saints.
I will be concerned if we dont.

As we enter the season, I'm pretty bullish on our chances of making the playoffs. Mainly based on our running game and defense. If, however, we crap the bed against the Saints, all bets are off.

If I understand you, a loss means everything and a win means nothing. Probably, the same with game #2. So, let's move on to SF.
