Arizona Cardinals rookie OL Hayden Conner to "miss some time" with knee injury
Conner hurt his knee three plays into the Cardinals' preseason loss to the Broncos on Saturday.cardswire.usatoday.com
I think the only reason he isnt outside looking in is due to the amount of guarantees in that second round contract. He's lucky that he has 2nd round capital associated with him or he would be at risk of being on the outside looking in next week. As the saying goes the #1 ability is availability.
they call that a fight?? By whose definition?didn't deserve it's own thread but damn

It is a bit perplexing that such a young guy who injured his knee in early pre season last year isnt on the field yet. Yet Stephon Diggs who had the same injury in week 8 of the regular season. Is 31 YO and has been back since the beginning of TC and from all reports looked very good. At a position where they do way more cutting no less.I think the only reason he isnt outside looking in is due to the amount of guarantees in that second round contract.
I understand letting a guy heal...get healthy...and being patient and excited about a young players potential and development.
But Damn.
we are on pace to get fewer games from him than years in his contract...or so it seems...Im sure he actually played in more than 4 games...
and how can he be showing coaches potential/improvement from the tub?
I was one of the few fans excited about his potential and willing to wait for him to heal mostly because he was so damn young. But the youth angle is deteriorating .....and im curious why it seems to take him so much longer than average to rrehab frrom these injuries.
dude should be back and fighting for a roster spot.
I'm not falling for that banana in the tailpipe lolNot really what it says though![]()
No Im not joking. It says undecided.I'm not falling for that banana in the tailpipe lol
Actually, Bidwill did comment on BJ earlier in the offseason. I believed he said he would be DOMINANT.It is a bit perplexing that such a young guy who injured his knee in early pre season last year isnt on the field yet. Yet Stephon Diggs who had the same injury in week 8 of the regular season. Is 31 YO and has been back since the beginning of TC and from all reports looked very good. At a position where they do way more cutting no less.
Even more perplexing is the fact that the team hasn't even commented on it at all.
Like you need help getting inebriated. I mean we have drank 2X together. I knowthink im gonna get hammered during the last preseason game - drinking game - instead of name that tune we're going blame that tune - sacks bad passes interceptions drink drink drink
but it's the last preseason game - I don't want to remember itLike you need help getting inebriated. I mean we have drank 2X together I know![]()
This one fits my thinking of the final 53.Arizona Cardinals roster projection, depth chart with one week until cut day
For much of the summer, it felt like the Cardinals had too many good players for 53 spots. Now, the challenge is finding 53 deserving players.
Never said the injury was fake. But this could definitely be a minor thing that “just” keeps dragging on until he lands on the IR for the year.Guess this wasn’t a “fake injury” after all. Still very perplexed by that thought bubble.
Cards like keeping extra safeties for special teams, as well.I would move that extra spot to Safety. Too much talent and we need the depth if there are as many 3 S formations as expected.
Lot of “and ifs” in this post.im ready to extend our punter - seriously - i looked it up - gillikin's island is s small stretch of field surrounded by a defense in front and an enzone in back - if we can pin teams and if our defensive front is as pushy as advertised and if ifs were buttercups the cardinals would put reece's out of business
I think what we learned last year is that you can't expect much out of rookie D-linemen, even if healthy to start. I expect Robinson to basically be a rookie, and after the many false starts of last year with Robinson, I'd be happy if Nolen even plays this year. I have no expectations for him at this point.i think the fear is the "second stringers", like Nolan/BJ look like question marks whether they can be any kind of impact players this year, especially BJ. That signifcantly weakens our depth up front. And after injuries to Starling and Bunting, our corner depth is zero and even two of our starters, Melton and Johnson, are question marks. And outside of Sweat, our LBers are pretty meh, at best.
But the Nolan/BJ stuff is the biggest reason why i fear this D isn't going to be what I hoped it would. A very good/great D-line/edge group makes every piece of the defense behind them better and I was expecting at least Nolan to provide some needed beef/push to help with the rotation. Missing all of camp will at least set him back a bit in the regular season and the longer he's out, the more I worry about another Robinson scenario. Not to mention I saw next to nothing out of Robinson last season when he did finally play and he was a ghost out there in preseason. My hope was strength in numbers and that at least 1 of those 3 guys could be a really solid contributor if not an impact maker and jury’s really out on all of them for one reason or another.
nah this is the year it comes together - next man up because others will get banged up as the season progresses - enter nolen and bj - i still believeI think what we learned last year is that you can't expect much out of rookie D-linemen, even if healthy to start. I expect Robinson to basically be a rookie, and after the many false starts of last year with Robinson, I'd be happy if Nolen even plays this year. I have no expectations for him at this point.
