The land was donated to the team by the Pendergrast family IIRC for....other considerations...ie, giving their son a coaching job
Just to tie up the loose end here, it wasn't donated, but bringing up the Pendergast name allowed me to get you the answer:

Thread hijack over.

good stuff

But as the season went on, Benson began to look more comfortable spelling Conner. In Weeks 1-8, he averaged 3.9 attempts per game and 3.8 yards per carry. In Weeks 9-15, he averaged 5.3 attempts per game and 5.4 yards per carry — before suffering a season-ending ankle injury.

This is just raw stats, small sample size stuff. After the week 9 game in which Benson got 10 carries, he had 14 carries combined over the remaining four appearances. His ypc was better, but on very small sample size.

Agree

He still has to show that he can be consistent and hit the right holes with no heistation

@Harry Any more buzz about us re-signing Will Hernandez? Would really like to have more decent experience on the IOL.
This is weird, but it’s what I hear. He wants to play in AZ. The Cards have the money. They seem determined to look at Adams at least in training camp. I’m told Hernandez could pass a physical. They’re going to fool around and force him to sign elsewhere.

Petzing goes before KM IMO
Disagree. If Kyler chokes it again, this staff will want him gone. I have serious doubts Petzing will shoulder the blame, unless it's just always the coach's fault, when there has been one constant in the equation.

The Athletic football podcast guys were extremely high on Klayton Adams, now with Dallas. They were giving him a lot of credit for the success of the run game.

Not sure I agree, and we may never know. But if the Cards don’t make the playoffs this year, what credible candidate would want to come here with a HC on the hot seat and a QB who’s killed two offensive playcallers in seven seasons?

Only small positive I can take out of that Walter news is that there is still a little over a month & some change until the regular season while DRob’s calf injury happened on the last day of training camp(I believe?).

Also it was and still is our deepest position. Nolen was drafted for what he could do 2026-2029 more than 2025 alone.

What drill are they doing in camp that has young D line.en injuring their calf every year?

The drill the Cardinals typically start with for our young DL is nicknamed "The Kerrigan". Basically they take a baton and whack you on the backside of your leg. If you can survive that you should be able to survive a 350lb lineman falling on the back of your leg.
