Sorry, that wasn’t some crazy great defensive play.
Was he supposed to one-hand it?
The commentary has not been kind to Kyler so far. It is what is, no need for us to try to make excuses for him.
There has been no excuses made for Kyler. However, be honest with yourself, if Kyler was on fire to start the camp, your narrative would have been flipped to being very concern about the upgrades on defense not living up to their billing. Please don’t lie.

There is a reason people winter in AZ and summer in Wisconsin. I have live at great length in both states and I will take the summers here all day.
I played golf last year at Erin Hills. It was without a doubt the most brutally hot round of golf I have ever played.
Heat index was 117.
Terrible thing was, it was so hot that our caddies didn’t show.
They gave us push carts but it was beyond bad.
Also, how is every hole at that course uphill, lol.

So am I the only one who's a bit concerned about MHJ's knee pain? Maybe it's because I have osteoarthritis in both knees but at his age to be sitting out practices in the first week of camp has me a bit worried maybe he overdid the weight training?

When I heard the phrase "maintenance" for a 22 year old that kind of scared me. If were Will Johnson ok he has a history but Marv?

They don't believe in Heat Index here. They claim the high humidity in Wisconsin doesn't make it feel hotter than the dry low humidity of Phoenix. Pay them no mind. lol

Erin Hills is an epic course just north of Milwaukee, as you know. Whistling Straits is another bucket list course in Wisconsin. Sand Valley and Blackwolf Run are two more. Wisconsin has some of the most legendary public courses in the world.

That's a couple days over 120 plus days. Yes Wisconsin has its moments but it's not every day all day and all night too

Excuse me if this has been reported, and if so, I didn't see it. I'm talking about the Red-White scrimmage. Were there any stats reported? Or, whether the Offense or Defense had the edge? I did see the Will Johnson int. Appreciate any info.

Yeah, I went to Flag the year we went to the Super Bowl. (of course, I didn't know it). I got a bunch of signatures on my football: Warner, Fitzgerald, Boldin, James, Dansby, Dockett, Wilson, and a few more.
One of my regrets is never having gone up to flag for camp. I figured I’d do it when I was older. Now I’m older and no flag. :(

I’d bring a positive out of this & say the defense has been doing what they’re capable of. If Kyler was on a heater, we would be worried about the defense & the upgrades.
I’ve been thinking about this comment, and I don’t buy it. If that was the case THAT would be the message. It would be “the defense is flying around and smothering everything!” Not “Kyler has been turning it over.” And though the QB is usually the lightning rod for commentary, this defense was much maligned going into last season and accounted for themselves fairly well, given the talent, and has had a number of articles about them (or portions or players) this offseason. The defense has been newsworthy already. So if it was incredible defensive play I think that would be the focus not Kyler’s shortcomings to date.

Jones did not look ready. Didn’t look good in drills. Couldn’t pick up the system.

Gaines looked bad in 1-1 drills.

Connor was playing center. Didn’t look good blocking and had 3 missed snaps on one drive.
Appreciate the info!

That’s not a good look when a second year guy who didn’t get on the field last year doesn’t look ready and hasn’t picked up the system. I understand different people learn in different fashions, and maybe he needs live reps to learn, but you’ve got an entire year to do nothing but study and still not ready? Thumbs down.

Never bought what little Gaines hype existed.

I’ll excuse Conner in playing a new position whilst making the jump from college to the pros. That’s a tough assignment for him.

Played Whistling and Sand Valley as well. All great tracks.

Haven’t heard much about the red and white scrimmage in the first two Phoenix radio shows so far. There’s usually a somewhat big influx of news/observations after.

Yes, hot summers, and sometimes cold winters.
Spring and Fall are fantastic! I love the 4 seasons. Flagstaff is the closest you get to the 4 seasons in Arizona. The end.

Moving on to football, cuz beautiful fall football weather fast approaching. Thank god!

If I were a Cardinals fan, I would still have concerns in the secondary and at LB. Hopefully the offense can score a lot of points because there are holes in that defense that opposing offenses will fully exploit.

You can attempt to troll me, and say Will Johnson is "going to be elite" and prove me wrong about the secondary, and "Mack Wilson is going to have an all world season" and prove me wrong at LB. Knock yourselves out, hating me on your keyboard will get you no wins this season.

We will see what happens on the grass starting in September. On the grass is where the actual truth is told.

Enjoy it, I know I will!
“I love the four seasons” is what everyone that lives anywhere cold says to cover the fact that they’re stuck somewhere cold. Btw, I live in “baby bears porridge” - SoCal. When I want “the four seasons” I go on a vacation.

I still think the roster comparison is a silly game, but you’re going to be surprised by our secondary, and that’s even with the injuries to two of our corners. We have VERY good safeties and it’s not trolling to state Will Johnson is going to be good - all reports from camp have been outstanding. And if melton takes the next step he should be terrific. And Garrett is already elite. Give those guys a legitimate pass rush and they’re going to surprise the league imo.

I think you’re off on Wilson at ILB, he’s pretty good (not all world) but the other slot is a concern. Overall it’s definitely not a strength.

I hope you return later in the season regardless of the experience you have with the packers. Owning your words is an important component of being a fan and participating in another team’s discussion.

Eh, not really. For the same reason I gave before. I take what the pundits give me. If the topic was “the defense is a sieve” I’d be worried about the defense. But if the topic was “Kyler is nails” I’d believe Kyler was throwing darts. The reason? Great-to-perfect offense always beats great defense. The offense knows where it’s going and a perfect dot can squeak in against smothering man defense. It’s nigh impossible for even great defenses to defend everything - that’s why even great defenses let up some scores.

And that’s being honest.

I am not a kyler hater. I am a kyler realist. When he’s good to great I sing his praises. But I’m also not going to create outs for him. And by turning “Kyler is turning the ball over” to “the defense just be playing great” is doing just that. You’re literally putting words in the writers’ articles that don’t exist there.

Eh, I moved to Charlotte metro, and I wouldn't move back to SoCal if you paid me.

I do like the seasons. Driving around here in the fall is absolutely magical. I'll go somewhere like where you live for vacation, and instead enjoy seeing differences between each season :p

I agree, Packersnation comment on the secondary is silly, the Cardinals secondary even with injuries already looks like it could be pretty damn good. They even have quality depth in the secondary and two players (Williams and DTD) that they can move around and use as chess pieces.

I think the Cardinals aren't too concerned about ILB because they're going to run a lot of looks with only one on the field anyway.

Man, I disagree with this take. Some of those Seahawks defenses just never really got beaten at all. I think a truly great defense only gives the offense a few opportunities to score throughout the entire game.

I think it's hard to have a great defense and takes a lot of resources to get there and that's why it's rare that you ever see a truly great defense.
